Some of us are still carrying words that were spoken to us decades ago.
A sentence from a parent.
A comment from a coach.
A label from a teacher.
It may have taken five seconds to say… but it stayed for years.
It shaped how you see yourself. It influenced what you believe you’re capable of. It either built confidence… or quietly chipped away at it.
We all know the power words can have on us. But we forget something just as important. Our words carry that same weight.
What you say today doesn’t just fill a moment. It can follow someone into tomorrow. It can echo in their mind long after the conversation ends.
A careless comment can wound deeper than you intended. A thoughtful word can lift someone more than you realize.
You don’t always see the impact in real time. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. So today, slow down before you speak.
Choose words that build.
Choose words that give clarity.
Choose words that call something out of someone, not push them down.
Because years from now… someone may still be carrying what you said today.
Join us this weekend as we honor our seniors and everything they’ve given to the program + stick around after the doubleheader & grab a signed team poster😎
What an incredible weekend at Mississippi College with my teammates from the 2003 ASC Championship Team.
Grateful for Jeremy Haworth and Kenny Bizot for making it happen and for MC honoring our success.
We laughed. Told the same old stories again. Met each other’s kids. Gave each other a hard time. It was perfect.
23 years later, it’s not the wins and losses that matter most. It’s the relationships that made it count.
