After surviving childhood trauma and working 15 yrs in frontline ER, I finally found the courage to give this talk at a fundraiser last Sunday.🎥This 10-minute speech, now at 2.6 million views, is for every survivor who's ever been silenced.
Watch it. Share it. And if it speaks to you – join the movement so we can end private violence together.

As ER physician who sees alcohol-related injuries as a regular part of my work, I am 5000% disgusted by the flood of alcohol available on every corner. Alcoholism runs in my family, and I don’t judge those who struggle with addictions. But I do judge a government that purposefully harms its people for profit.
Thank you @HuffPost for publishing my essay. Even as a seasoned ER doc, I felt powerless to stop my own mom from becoming homeless. This story may resonate if you struggle to help a family member with severe mental illness, or as a caregiver to your parents. Thank you for reading and to @PeterMountford for your guidance with my writing.
