There is a human tissue that builds itself up and breaks itself down every ~28 days using non-scarring wound healing and instead of studying that and learning everything we can about it we think it's gross and look for other less relevant models to understand wound healing.
Just your regular reminder that Stockholm Syndrome is just a theory and it was created about a female hostage by a male psychiatrist who didn't even know her in order to explain away her testimony of police incompetence in extracting her
Mark Court might have the most niche job in the world.
Of the 2,000+ people that work at Rolls Royce, he is the only person allowed to paint pinstripes on the cars.
He uses a squirrel-fir brush and it takes 3 hours for one vehicle.
It’s a high pressure job because Court — who makes six-figures — is the final step of the manufacturing process.
A mistake requires a new paint job and delays delivery of the car (which start at $300k but easily tops $1m with upgrades).
Formerly a sign painter, Court rarely takes time off because he says he doesn’t want to “lose focus”.
He also doesn’t want to know the car’s owner.
“If you start worrying about who owns them or where it’s going, it’ll play with your mind,“ he once told AutoJosh. “Then you’ll never do it. You just got to be able to learn to shut off and do what you need to do.”
Does Court actually have the most niche job in the world? Maybe.
Is he an artist? Obviously, yes
The girl in the video below is a friend of mine from college, Julia.
She hosts a podcast where she talks about breakups, relationships and trying to love yourself at any stage you are in.
The fact that Matt took her video out of context to build some commentary that fits a hyper-negative narrative and chooses to call her “stupid” is not just cruel but flat out uninformed. The point of most of Julia’s content is to say “even if you are alone, even if you are going through a breakup, even if you haven’t found “the one” yet to start a family… there are ways to find joy through that.”
It just so happens that her Sunday joy is celebrating learning to cook a new dish and watch reality TV ‘guilt free’. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
And please, let’s not forget when we share commentary on content, there are real people behind those videos / posts and more often than not we do not get a full picture in a few minutes long video or a few sentences.
