@morningireland @TeresaHeeney Impossible to get staff. Turnover rates are unsustainable across the sector. A labour intensive sector, highly stressful, poor salaries, stringent regulations, lack of Government investment. Places alone will not solve tge problem

As I said on @morningireland, the #earlyyears sector will be seriously impacted by this new vaccination roll out plan. 72% of our sector is aged between 18-44 so we will be among the last to be vaccinated; we have been open since June 2020, without PPE and using bubbles;

@MaryMoloneyie It beggars belief. Cannot understand it, staff in pharmacy vaccinated while the have full Ppe protection but Educators working at cold face, firstly for frontline workers, and continually throughout all levels of lockdowns & still not even close to vaccinations

Given the general age profile within the ECEC sector, educators will be among the last to be vaccinated. Working without PPE since June 29 2020, not good enough. Teacher unions already up in arms about this change to roll out and rightly so.

@MaryMoloneyie Yes so true Mary but I feel that it is getting that knowledge to parents is a critical key as I had a parent tell me she is just letting her child do the first year of ecce as she is very tall .... what about dispositions and skills ....frightening really
