BREAKING: TOTAL DISGRACE! Donald Trump embarrasses the U.S. on the world stage by refusing to turn on his camera during a Zoom call with the leaders of the G7.
We'll give you one guess why...
In a moment straight out of a bad political satire, Trump hopped on a call with leaders including Canada's Mark Carney and France's Emmanuel Macron — and then failed to actually show his face. It's the kind of thing that a lazy employee might do to avoid getting dressed after sleeping in following a night of heavy drinking.
Or, more likely, it was because Trump was tired and he planned on falling asleep during the call like he has during countless other high-stakes meetings. With his camera off, he could conceivably snooze in peace without the others noticing. Dementia is a physically taxing condition after all.
According to Fatih Birol, the executive director of the International Energy Agency, the Zoom meeting was to discuss the global energy market (which has been dramatically destabilized by Trump's Iran War and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz). Specifically, they addressed the "severe pressures" on diesel supplies which, again, is a consequence of Trump's disastrous war.
Present on the call were the leaders of Canada, the European Commission, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and (possibly) the United States.
The image of Trump's camera turned off was shared by Birol, and it's unclear if he kept it off for the entire call but even a brief failure to show his face is a sign of disrespect, deeply unprofessional, and just the latest indignity that this buffoon has heaped on our closest allies.

Today is our 51st wedding anniversary! Franni’s been my life partner from the time we met freshman year of college to this day. We’ve grown up together. She’s the best girlfriend, wife, mother, grandma, and friend. Thanks, honey. Here’s to another 51!
Holy shit Biden tears into Trump and he sounds great:
“The reflecting pool reflects something even worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the core of this administration. It’s the corruption. The corruption. The brazen, blatant corruption. Corruption on a scale never seen before in American history in any administration.
Trump has made billions of dollars since returning to the White House. Simply stunning to me.
He has no shame. Frankly, it’s embarrassing for the country. Trump couldn’t care less.
Making money off the presidency is one of the reasons he wants to be president.”

A teacher earning $60,000 pays Social Security taxes on every dollar she earns.
A worker earning $184,500 does, too.
But someone earning $1 million pays the tax on just the first $184,500. Nothing more.
Yes, the country’s billionaires pay into Social Security as if they make $184,500.
That doesn’t make sense.
So I have a bill to eliminate this arbitrary cap on Social Security taxes.
If those with the highest incomes just paid the same share as everyone else, we could inject around $3 TRILLION into the program over the next 10 years.
I'm fighting hard to protect Social Security.
🚨 BREAKING: The family of Renee Good and her partner, Rebecca Good, have filed two federal lawsuits over Good’s January killing by ICE agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis.
The first lawsuit is against the United States itself, alleging wrongful death and other claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act. The complaint alleges Ross fired three times as Good’s vehicle turned away from him, killing the 37-year-old mother of three, and argues the shooting violated the Fourth Amendment and DHS use-of-force policies.
The second, much broader lawsuit personally names Ross, Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, Corey Lewandowski, Tom Homan, Todd Lyons, Gregory Bovino, and other federal agents. It accuses them of participating in an unlawful conspiracy surrounding “Operation Metro Surge” and brings claims under the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, Bivens, and Minnesota law.
The 149-page complaint alleges Good’s killing was not an isolated incident, but the “predictable and intended product” of a coordinated federal operation that plaintiffs say targeted Minnesota’s Somali and Hispanic communities and sought to intimidate people documenting or warning others about federal enforcement activity.
Together, the lawsuits seek damages over Good’s death and the injuries Rebecca Good says she suffered after witnessing the shooting.
Becca Good, partner of Renee Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis earlier this year, said Thursday that trying to live without Renee is like "trying to live without the sun." https://t.co/yNYf36kym1
On what would have been his 102nd birthday, I’m thinking of President Jimmy Carter. As a patriot, a humanitarian, and a leader who centered human rights, he embodied what it means to make your faith come alive through public service. His legacy will long outlive us all.
If you want to see a witch hunt, watch Sen. Erik Schmitt attack Jack Smith. Schmitt makes false accusations, suggests being in Atlanta proves conspiracy, and when it becomes clear Smith was not in Atlanta at all, persists in name-calling. And no, he has no shame.

Trump incited violence on Jan 6 to prevent the transition of power—rightfully leading to Jack Smith's prosecution. Trump's blatant attack on democracy shows we must be vigilant against his assaults.
Melania Trump tried to bully me into silence because she didn’t like what I had to say about her.
Shouldn’t our First Lady have more important things to worry about?
"For the first half of this year, Melania Trump was doing everything in her power to get me to shut up. … That trophy-wife tyrant wanted me on my hands and knees begging forgiveness for something I hadn’t done wrong, and every refusal brought more pressure. I was told, more than once, that I needed to do what other people had done, retract and apologize, or risk losing everything."
This is the Republican playbook:
Attack Jack Smith. Make scurrilous allegations (even when they blow up in your face).
But, for God’s sake, don’t talk about the facts of what the president did on January 6th.
Donald Trump is a criminal who has already undermined one election—and he is very likely to try to undermine another.
This is a moral moment for our nation. We must stand up, speak out, and defend our democracy with everything we’ve got—because the stakes for our republic could not be higher.

Before calling someone a “dirtbag,” the Senator should have had his facts straight. An apology is in order.
Glad one of us knew the difference between the Atlanta Hawks and the Iowa Hawkeyes!
If you can still support Republicans after Jack Smith said this, there is something wrong with you.
"We found that [Trump] caused that violence, that it was foreseeable to him, and that he sought to exploit it."
BREAKING: FINAL CAPITULATION! Trump ABANDONS his bid to claw back E. Jean Carroll’s $5.6 million payout after the court dismisses his appeal WITH PREJUDICE.
E. Jean Carroll has accomplished what practically no other person involved in litigation with Donald Trump has ever been able to do: finally get him to give up on fighting the court’s judgment.
After years of stalling, appealing, and demanding the impossible, Trump just quietly dropped his final legal fight against the $5.6 million he owes Carroll, and this time, he can never bring it back.
Trump agreed to dismiss his appeal "with prejudice," meaning the case is over for good, according to a September 25th order from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.
He also abandoned his bizarre demand that Carroll RETURN the money she'd already legally won. New York Daily News reporter Molly Crane-Newman called it a genuine first: "In what I believe is a first for my eyes, Trump withdraws his appeal fighting the payout of $5M in damages to E. Jean Carroll."
Let's remember exactly what this money represents. A 2023 jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing Carroll in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s and for defaming her afterward, awarding her $5 million.
After the Supreme Court refused to even hear Trump's appeal back in June, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan ordered the money finally released in July, delivering one of the more satisfying judicial smackdowns in recent memory: "In the last analysis, defendant has been stalling this case for years. It is time for him to 'do equity' and pay the judgment."
Trump's team, naturally, still couldn't resist framing this as victimhood, releasing a statement calling it part of "Witch Hunts, including the Democrat-funded travesty of the Carroll Hoaxes," even as they were simultaneously agreeing to permanently drop the fight. Trump's lawyers had already sent $5,625,005.48, judgment plus interest, straight to Carroll's legal team back in July.
Trump kept trying anyway, asking the appeals court in July to either block the payout entirely or force Carroll to give the money back, arguing she'd publicly stated her intent to donate it and had even started a foundation to distribute the funds. The court finally forced his hand, ordering him earlier this month to declare whether his motion was moot. He folded a week before that deadline.
Of course, this isn't fully over. Trump is still separately asking the Supreme Court to take up his appeal of a much larger $83.3 million defamation verdict from a different jury, a request the justices are expected to consider this fall.
But for now, on this particular case, after years of delay tactics and legal gymnastics, Trump finally did something that must have had him stewing in anger and denial: he simply paid what he owed.
