I have never posted about this, mainly for the safety of my spouse & family. But, she has asked me to share in this extremely pivotal moment. We live in TN. My spouse is an OB/GYN and every time she does an abortion to save someones life, she commits a class C felony.
Tita González Peña, who will graduate with both her MD and masters of public health from @VUmedicine next Friday, worked to bring empathetic, equitable health care to Nashville's underserved population. #VU2022#VandyMed#VandyMPH

"Pregnant individuals and those planning to become pregnant should feel confident in choosing vaccination to protect themselves, their infants, their families, and their communities." ACOG, @AmerAcadPeds, @AANP_NEWS, and more have come to a consensus: https://t.co/j86JdhiHV7
Grand rounds led by @DorothyERoberts was absolutely incredible. Even just seeing you virtually was a dream come true! Now that my co-intern @annienapple and I are at Penn, how about a collab?? We want to build on our work eliminating race in eGFR at our last institution.
Much to learn on the origins of gynecology and the history of slavery, racism, and medicine. Thinking about how we can better amplify the stories of the Mothers of Gynecology in med education for students and residents? #MedTwitter#obgyntwitter#MedEd
MFMU has developed a race-free VBAC calculator! A step in the right direction towards eliminating inappropriate use of race in medicine!

So incredibly impressed that @shadetreeclinic has achieved vaccination of more than 70% of their active patients. Great work @danny_sack, @annienapple, Emilie Fisher, Tita Peña, Eva Niklinska, Aisha Suara and others!
@DrOlgaTheOBGYN Separate but related note - one of my patients in the ICU told me that holding their hand or touching their shoulder or wiping their tears while they were intubated but awake eased their anxiety more than any meds we gave! Of course not the case for everyone but important!
Transgender children and teens need affirming, inclusive, and respectful health care. @ACOG opposes discriminatory policies that put barriers between trans people and quality, equitable care and deny them the right to live fully and consistently with their gender identity #HB1570
