Today we came together to remember those healthcare workers who have died by suicide.💙

To mark the UK’s inaugural National Suicide Memorial Day for Health and Care Workers, guests gathered for the unveiling the first virtual memorial tree plaque at NHS Practitioner Health’s headquarters in London and held a poignant minute’s silence.

Our charity and @NHSPracHealth organised the memorial day so that there would be an annual date dedicated to healthcare workers who have taken their own lives.

Across the country, there were various tree planting ceremonies and memorial events at NHS organisations to remember healthcare workers and reconfirm their commitment to protecting staff’s mental health.

We hope today has been a fitting memorial to those lives lost and we will continue to work hard to prevent the suicide of health workers.

Given the increasing rates of mental illness amongst healthcare workers, we are shocked that @NHSPracHealth's vital services have been decommissioned for secondary care staff. This service has been a lifeline to so many.

We will continue to support secondary care staff but we are not a treatment service. We cannot replace the work of @NHSPracHealth. It is essential that this decision is reversed

Today we are launching our annual 5K in May fundraiser 💙

This is our 4th year of launching the campaign and we hope this one will be the best yet!

This year, we are focusing on ‘One Step Forward’, encouraging you to take one step in your 5K journey and to encourage healthcare professionals to take that one step forward in seeking support for their mental health.
