The Canadian Disability Benefit, once funded, will be a life-saving benefit for people with disabilities. Call on Minister Freeland to fund the CDB now!#EndDisabilityPoverty https://t.co/5moN0trG0S
I appreciated this article’s balance & focus on all human rights in the fog of war & atrocities @faisalkutty@MuneezaSheikh@FaisalBhabha

@Avis_Favaro @markhollandlib The auditor general found $4 billion unaccounted for the prior year — earmarked for safe school reopening and health care. What happened to our federal transfers?!
@MLSEPR shame on MLSE for pulling back from bidding for a WNBA franchise. Why not support women’s sports? The spring WNBA games in TO were a huge success. At least be transparent about your decision after all the hype. #WNBAExpansion#WNBAinthe6#WNBAtoronto
@Garnet_2203@ColinDMello Greenbelt shouldn’t be used for housing period. And this for profit housing won’t be affordable. Disgusting process of padding developers pockets to tune of $8.3 billlion
@cathyacrowe@Mikeggibbs@RafiInterfaith Agree 100% Cathy. And like food banks in churches & charities have grown exponentially over the past 30+ years & are now an institutional charitable response letting govt off the hook when they should implement living wage policies & income security above pov-line.
@TenantAdvocacy
The Harris gov’t dumped rent controls in Ont in 1995 (and the registry of legal rents) -The for profit development industry whined rent controls hampered dev of rentals. Yet from 1995-2023 the majority of multi-res builds are condos.

@TOAdamVaughan Great idea. Such underutilized sites one floor LCBO, liquor stores snd private sector buildings: shoppers drug Marts, grocery stores, even legions.
More density coukd be added to these sites on main transit lines, plus more Main Street housing density.
@cathyacrowe A huge relief. But our city & federal govt (and province) is failing to address housing & homelessness crisis. Churches & charitable cannot hold the dike back. We need immediate actions.
Thanks to LATS for the invitation yesterday at the new Executive Inaugural event as guest speaker to talk about @ZeroGunViolence work in TO and also building networks with Continental and Diaspora Africans for the betterment of communities and our future. Keep up the awesome work
