You should study what makes you defensive. The topic you avoid, the joke that irritates you, the question that feels insulting, the feedback you instantly reject. Defensiveness is usually the guard dog sitting in front of a weakness you have not trained yourself to face.
This line from Atomic Habits isn't ready to leave my head:
"It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment."
You people will do fraud = you'll make content
You'll bypass security and restriction features on Outlier = make content
Exploit food bank access in Canada = make content
Shady immigration options and deals = make content
Cheat Temu by canceling certain orders = make content
Watch a driver sleep at the steering wheel = make content
See accident victims on the road = make content
The stupid thing is that your content creation efforts have real-life impacts on people. For instance, if police starts searching food now, we will blame them. And if they open the food a delivery rider is supposed to deliver - we will drag the rider, give him low ratings, etc.
There are some things that should never make it to the internet - this is one of those.
On the issue of fraud, Nigerians no do scam reach Asians. In fact, the whole Nigerian fraud industry still dey learn from where Southeast Asian scammers dey.
But guess who are the loudest? The content creators.
We always see ourselves to be wiser, so we tend to want to show the world. But constantly trying to show people you're wise is itself foolishness.
4 years ago an American hired me on Upwork. And took it upon himself to improve my portfolio. He said “I want you rich so we can jolly ride on my yacht.” He made me Head of Marketing at his start-up. And that one move opened countless doors for me as a copywriter. He built the foundation I enjoy today. And the confidence I express every day.
He changed my life.
If you see this, my good man, thank you. You gave a young man hope, direction and purpose. That young man is beyond grateful.
If you’re an anxious person, just do everything for fun. Submit documents for fun. Start a blog for fun. Go to a job interview for fun. ANXIETY FEEDS ON IMPORTANCE. Do not make everything a matter of life and deaťh.
Igbo people do not add iru to egusi soup.
Igbo people do not add iru to okra soup.
Igbo people do not add iru to ogbono soup.
Igbo people do not cook with iru.
Igbo people do not add sugar to yam porridge.
And Igbo people do not pour beans inside pot, add water and ingredients, then start cooking it like that. We cook it halfway first, pour away the first water like rice, then add fresh water before adding ingredients and seasoning.
Yes, Igbo people use crayfish to cook almost everything apart from stew and you people should try it.
I genuinely do not know where some of you learnt your cooking from.
