Advocates for net zero tell us that solar PV and wind power are cheaper than fossil fuels.

Their reasoning is that it costs essentially nothing for energy companies to harness energy from the sun and wind, and it is relatively cheap to convert that energy into electricity and transmit it to peoples' households, who then foot the bill.

But, this is only a half truth. 🤏

International pricing data reveal that the larger the share of solar PV and/or wind connected to a nation's grid, the higher household electricity costs generally are. Bjorn Lomborg posted a chart conveying this just a few days ago, but I was naturally curious and decided to create my own version shown below using the latest data, which confirms Lomborg's findings.

The facts are clear. More solar and wind connected to the grid increases prices. 📈

So, what is it that renewables advocates get wrong?

Well, most of the calculations of electricity cost on a kilowatt-hour (KWh) basis you see only consider times when solar and wind power are optimized. Under favorable environmental conditions (e.g., clear skies and windy weather), it is true that solar and wind will produce electricity for a much lower cost than fossil fuels. That is indisputable. However, the sun's light is not always reaching the ground, and the wind doesn't always blow hard enough to propel turbine blades.

Once you consider load balancing costs associated with their intermittency, property taxes due to large land requirements and utility returns, that gets passed down to the consumer and ultimately makes them much more expensive (Idel, 2022). Due to solar PV's and wind's lack of dependability in poor conditions, they just add to existing electricity sources, but do not replace fossil fuels (Rather & Mahalik, 2023).

this is a message from Germany.

Our stupid government has invited millions of migrants without vetting them, we have tax-funded NGOs playing cab on the Mediterranean instead of rescuing them back to their shores, a huge asylum industry that thrives on renting out apartments and building houses for these migrants, other tax-funded NGOs monitoring everything we say so they can report us so we are being sued into bankruptcy, and our security bodies who have more to do with people questioning this madness than trying anything to keep Germany safe.

But it gets even more insane: We secure kindergartens and public swimming pools with barbed wire (no joke), public events with 'Merkel Lego', which hasn't helped at all, as you could tragically see in Magdeburg, and on top of that we have knife free zones that prohibit knives and other weapons to be carried at certain times. Our borders are still wide open, but this level of security that we need there is being implemented on our streets and ironically life is becoming increasingly dangerous.

That is the extent of the madness in Germany. If you criticize this too much, the self-proclaimed democrats want to put you in gulag and they want to ban the AfD, millions of Germans vote.
