@confusion_reign I think standing pat is fireable. I’m cool with selling or buying, but I’d prefer to pick a direction and it’s fairly agreed upon that Harris has fumbled each deadline he’s been in charge of. Can’t keep having that happen. But I agree, just choosing to go for it isn’t fireable.
What’s wild is I don’t even think the spreadsheets are wrong anymore. They say what we all know: he can’t stay on the roster. The only people still under the delusion are Hinch and Harris.
Justin Verlander arrived in Houston in 2017 as an ace. He's now an Astros legend. Two World Series championships. Two Cy Young Awards. His 3rd career No-hitter. Countless unforgettable moments.
Thank you for everything you gave to our city and to Astros fans everywhere. Congratulations on an extraordinary career.
We can't wait to see you in Cooperstown as an Astro.
@SledgeHammerHor We actually have some tradeable assets. Clark, Anderson, Briceño, Liranzo, Cruz. Biggest issue is trading any of those guys requires Scott Harris to part with one of his draftees and he thinks he’s a genius who has drafted the next Murderer’s Row.
Say what you want about the legends committee for the ASG, but when they announce the rosters and we watch Justin Verlander tip his hat to the crowd as an all star one last time, I for one will be grinning ear to ear because the hat he is tipping has an olde English D on it
@OPSenheimer@bythewaybro@clay_snowden2 I was just thinking this, “I wonder where he has a better future. The position with multiple underperformers, or challenging arguably the best catcher in baseball for his spot?”
@OPSenheimer I’ve always thought he profiles as a reliever. He could be an elite bullpen arm if allowed to empty the tank. If/when we ever get a healthy Olson next year, I’d love seeing Keider as a high leverage reliever
I historically have been a defender of AJ. The Tigers are going to win in spite of him today. I still think he’s a good manager, but I am really starting to doubt if he’s the right guy for THIS job.
