NCCSALW Strengthens Collaboration with Key Stakeholders in the North East

The North East Zonal Office of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) has embarked on advocacy and sensitization visits to strengthen partnerships with security agencies, state governments, and traditional rulers across Borno, Taraba, Adamawa, and Gombe States.

Led by the Zonal Director, Maj Gen A Adamu (Rtd), the visits focused on enhancing intelligence sharing, inter-agency collaboration, and public awareness to curb illicit arms circulation, a major driver of insecurity in the region.

Highlights included a sensitization lecture at Taraba State University during the Youth Cultural Festival, where students pledged to support arms control advocacy. The team also paid homage to His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Mustapha, CFR, the Lamido of Adamawa, who commended the Centre’s peace efforts.

The engagements reaffirmed strong stakeholder commitment to arms recovery, intelligence coordination, and community sensitization in the North East.
