"This isn't the real Anonymous" arguments are funny to us, because we've literally been on this account since 2011. Throughout the years we have worked closely with Wikileaks & DDoSecrets, leaked documents, promoted hacktivism, and supported transparency not just in governments, but in corporations too.
"But Anonymous isn't political! It doesn't take sides!"
That argument is a complete fabrication of what we've always done: Political activism via digital medium (hacktivism).
In 2006-2007 one of our very first actions was to attack the far-right wing racist Hal Turner - and it didn't end well for him.
We protested Scientology, via Chanology and we will always continue to attack cults like Scientology, MAGA and Qanon. We haven't changed - we're still the same, the very problem is the amount of propaganda so many people are consuming. Some people create fantasies in their heads about who we are so they can create their own false narratives, or even to push false information about our collective.

Anonymous hacked Sarah Palin's email, raided the Oregon Tea Party, supported democracy in Wisconsin fighting against the Koch's, and smashed Stratfor (fuck you Aaron Barr).
For anyone claiming Anonymous isn't political or doesn't take sides - they're full of shit.
"B-but you all were arrested!"
Really? No, many of us knew (and were friends with) the activists who were arrested (fuck you Sabu). We promoted donation accounts for legal support for our fallen brethren. Those arrested were a very small portion of the collective, we will always appreciate the sacrifices they made to help move the world into a better place.
"But the REAL Anonymous would NEVER..."
Shut the fuck up. Anonymous is an IDEA. It is a decentralized INTERNATIONAL collective of activists and hacktivists that have attacked governments, institutions and corporations (and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future). We're no one's personal army - and for anyone who is trying to mold us into something else or tell you "They're not the real Anonymous!" - they do that because they 100% have an agenda.
