Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, inimbitahan si Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian na makipagpulong para pag-usapan kung sino ang tunay na Senate President.

“I’ll offer you a solution, Senator Win. Mag-meeting tayo, may naiisip akong solusyon. Mahirap humanap ng solusyon kung sino ang tunay na Senate President kasi ’yung tatlong libro na hawak ko [Philippine Constitution, Rules of the Senate, at Bibliya] ay nagsasabing ang legitimate Senate President ay ’yung nahalal ng 13,” ani Cayetano sa kaniyang Facebook live ngayong Sabado, June 6, 2026.

The Constitution is clear and does not leave room for interpretation.

The Senate is composed of 24 Senators, and a majority of 13 constitutes a quorum to do business.

13 votes to constitute a quorum.

13 votes to elect officers.

A void election cannot create valid authority.

Contrary to Senator Alan Peter Cayetano's claim, it was not members of the media who applauded and cheered for him during his press conference at the Senate on Thursday, but rather his own staff and several guests in attendance.

"First time akong napalakpakan ng media, walang bayad 'yon," he said after claiming that he had managed to unite various political groups, which he alleged are now aligned with the administration.
