I’ve been thinking about this essay for 4yrs, since Bailey was announced as 🧜🏽♀️. 🙏🏼 to @thatelizasmith for sharp edits and Qs that pushed me, & @mirajacob who helped me reconnect with my project/purpose. This is a microcosm of my book-in-progress, of my ❤️ https://t.co/MJklfXCRam
“The Trouble with Danish Happiness” by Asya Partan:
“It had been thirteen years since my husband Andy and I had left his native Denmark after nearly three years of trying to build our new life together in Copenhagen.”

I’m so deeply grateful to @Pangyrus - and especially to @anrielizabeth for giving my Danish musings a home and for her talents as an editor and a human. Also huge thanks to Amanda Lewis, & to @GoldmanWrites for bringing Tove Ditlevsen into my world with his brilliant translation.
#VibeCheckPod live @WBURCitySpace was EVERYTHING. As was getting my book signed by Saeed before the taping, and Zach commenting on my jumpsuit. Thank you both for your generosity of spirit and for encouraging us all to find our joy. Sam, you were missed. ❤️
@rebeccamakkai Re: Garth, “The River” and “Unanswered Prayers” are my recommendations. And go see him in Vegas if you can, he has a residency right now and his show is *chef’s kiss*
"While I don’t think Disney movies can solve the very real issues plaguing society today, I do believe that rewriting narratives is a piece of the puzzle." @anrielizabeth on the importance (and limits) of representation. https://t.co/Uy04EyUeNX
On this Marathon Monday, I’m happy to share this short essay I wrote about my own experience running the race. Thank you to @BostonDotCom for selecting and publishing it.

@karenbates What an enormous loss for (and terrible decision by) npr. Thank you so much for all your work, it has touched and taught me more than you know. ❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️
@AvashiaNeema@rfordham811 Amen to that. I’ve experienced communal care in many places across this country (and beyond). New England has been the hardest when it comes to finding it and I wonder if that it why I am so (mentally) exhausted here.
