23 hours of screen time in 3 days.
Not for a productivity challenge.
A client’s agency was in serious trouble because of a revenue problem.
For those 3 days, there was only one goal:
Keep the business moving.
Calls. Strategy. Outreach. Finding opportunities.
I could have treated him like “just another client.”
I didn’t.
When you build a real relationship with a founder, their problem becomes your problem.
Clients aren’t just clients. They’re people you’re building with.
When things get tough, you stay in the trenches.

Imagine two founders pitch the same client.
Same offer, same experience level.
One has two years of content behind them and the other has three posts and a blank banner.
The client had already read four posts before the call started, and by that point the decision was pretty much made.
What outbound leads look like vs. inbound from content:
Outbound:
→ Cold to your name
→ Price is the first question on the call
→ Trust gets built in real time
→ You're proving yourself every minute
Inbound from organic:
→ Knows your prices before they reach out
→ Has watched months of your results
→ Trust was built long before the call
→ You're confirming what they already decided
The trust level in the room when the call starts is what separates those two experiences honestly.
Most companies don’t have a lead problem.
They have a targeting + distribution problem.
You can have:
• a great service
• a great website
• great case studies
• a great team
But if the right people never hear about you, none of it matters.
That’s why I like outbound.
Find the right people.
Start relevant conversations.
Create opportunities.
Simple.
A LinkedIn reply is not the goal.
A sales opportunity is.
Here’s an example from our work with Studio 52.
We didn’t just send messages and count replies.
The process was:
Target the right ICP
↓
Start a relevant conversation
↓
Understand the prospect’s problem
↓
Qualify the interest
↓
Move them toward a demo / next step
In one conversation, the prospect asked for more details.
A few messages later:
“I am available for demo. Can we do that?”
That’s what good outbound should do.
Not spam.
Not generic pitches.
Relevant conversations that create opportunities
CASE STUDY: LinkedIn Outbound → Appointments → Sales
We built a LinkedIn outbound system designed to move prospects through:
ICP → Target List → Outreach → Conversation → Qualification → Appointment
The campaign dashboard showed:
2,406 connections sent
730 accepted
147 message replies
360 InMails sent
Here’s how we built the system 👇

@shawnlovejoy Shawn, I help B2B founders with prospecting, outbound and booking qualified sales meetings. Are you open to bringing in more clients right now?
I’m building BlendGrow around a simple system:
Right ICP → Right prospects → Right message → Conversations → Meetings → Sales
No complicated funnels. No vanity metrics.
Just creating more conversations with the right people.
I’ll share the wins, experiments and lessons.
The easiest way to improve cold outreach:
Give people a reason to reply.
Instead of:
“Hey, we help businesses generate leads. Open to a call?”
Look for a trigger:
→ Hiring
→ New product
→ Fundraise
→ New market
→ New partnership
Then use it.
Most B2B outbound doesn't fail because outbound doesn't work.
It fails because:
Wrong ICP
→ Wrong prospects
→ Generic message
→ No response
→ "Cold outreach doesn't work."
Fix the targeting before changing the channel.
“The simpler it is to consume, the faster it converts.”
You don’t need a 30-page ebook to get leads.
