@penguins After he moved off TV to radio I would synchronize the radio with the TV so I could hear his play by play and goal calls. Nobody did it better.
Today’s X4.5-class #SolarFlare produced a clear eruption, with a decent Earth-directed component. The eruption is expected to arrive alongside a stream of fast solar wind from an Earth-directed coronal hole, combining to produce enhanced aurora early next week. #spaceweather
Today's X4.5 solar flare from sunspot region 3825 was highly eruptive. A fast coronal mass ejection was launched and the bulk of it is heading east of our planet, but there is a faint full halo outline visible on LASCO coronagraph imagery. We expect a glancing blow during the second half of 16 September (Monday) with solar wind speeds between 700km/s and 800km/s at arrival. A strong G3 geomagnetic storm watch is in effect on Monday, 16 September.
Last night was spectacular!! I have never seen the #Auroraborealis so vivid with reds and purples. It started as we passed #Chicago at 39,000ft and lasted until the dawn over Ireland, when it turned purple. The pics are from my #iPhone15 with no editing or filters. This and meteors, and we had a front row seat in our #airbus.
