Behind-the-scenes look at the #Cowboys’ Stephen Jones and #Eagles GM Howie Roseman negotiating the trade that allowed Philly to move up to No. 20 and draft WR Makai Lemon.
Dallas wanted Philly to call so they initiate the talks.

@markhagelauer It’s not bad that another team jumped them. It’s bad that they were so oblivious it could happen they 1) didn’t lock the spot in with a late round pick and/or 2) actually called the dude before they were even on the clock.
@PenguinsJesus@937theFan 35+ are not buyout proof!! There’s just no cap relief. Pens would save 1/3 of actual salary and the roster spot but have the full cap hit the last 2 years of the contract. But they 100% can buy him out.
@JoshYohe_PGH You’re right, but I wonder what a healthy Florida team would do to them. I also thought the same thing about Utah last night then Vegas won. It’s so hard to say.
@Penguins667187@Fansville412@oldsage1958@Cory_Tucek No team is going to give up an asset for a 40 year old to be with extensive injury and health issues. So you either buy him out or pay an asset to get one of those 10 teams to take him. Again highly unlikely.
@Fansville412@oldsage1958@Cory_Tucek Pens would save 1/3 of his actual remaining salary and the roster/contract spots. So it does have value if you really don’t want him any longer.
@oldsage1958@Fansville412@Cory_Tucek 100% incorrect. You can buy him out. You just get no cap relief and pay the entire cap hit over the remaining buyout years. He cannot be waived due to his NMC and even if he could, over 35 only gets $100K of cap relief so he can’t be buried in the minors anyway.
