Xbox and PlayStation seem to have lost the plot and forgot what consoles are. An affordable, single-purpose way to play games. Cheaper because they did less than a PC. By chasing PC specs and going digital-only, they've become expensive locked-down boxes that cost nearly as much as a PC while offering way less. What's the point?
Xbox & PS digital push ignored how GameStop trade-ins sold more games. Buy $60 game โ quick $25 back when done + credit from your old game = effective ~$10-35 cost. They treated used games as a threat instead of an incentive driving purchases. They killed the gaming economy.
@mikepat711 Your experience has clearly been different than mine. 14.2 was great. 14.3 has been a downgrade. The car seems nervous or scared to make a decision, which makes me nervous. Indecisive about things as simple as choosing between two left turn lanes. Wasn't an issue with 14.2.
The same Macbook Pro I bought 2 months ago for $3k (14" M5 Pro chip with 18/20 cpu/gpu cores, 64 GB of memory, and 1 TB ssd) is now $3700. Looks like the chip shortage is gonna be a thing for at least another 1-2 years.
Sony shutting down Destiny 2 and focusing on Marathon seems odd at first glance. I don't play the game, but it seems enough people do to keep it going with expansions even if not to invest the cash needed for a full D3. I haven't seen any signs of momentum in Marathon.
Destiny had 167k concurrent players on its last content update. Marathon's peak is less than half that. If this were purely a performance based business decision, they'd be saving Destiny and panicking about Marathon.
I think Sony wants the Destiny IP but not the Bungie team that came with it. Shutting down the live service lets them lay off 400 people in one clean move instead of navigating messy individual cuts. The layoffs aren't a consequence of the shutdown, the shutdown is cover for the layoffs. They keep the franchise, dismiss the people they lost confidence in, and rebuild later with a new team.
My guess is there were a significant number of people on the Destiny team that Sony simply didn't want around and this was the easiest way to get rid of them.
@liorsela It's fun, but a couple of things: Doesn't impact driving with FSD and it reduces handling. Makes the front-end feel looser during acceleration. Once you install it, you no longer have the Standard option; only Sport or Chill. I'd skip it and keep my $2k if I had a do-over.
Hey @tesla and @elonmusk , adding a persistent menu everytime FSD is disengaged is probably the worst thing I've seen in the car since I got my Model Y a year ago. Ths was a terrible idea. This may come as a surprise to you, but at that moment I'm actually busy...driving. I would have thought the disengagement might have given that away. Also, I really don't owe you an explanation each time I choose to drive my car myself. ๐ Please stop this ridiclulous intrusion.
I like Bednar, but itโs probably time for him to go. The team is predictable which doesnโt cause a problem in the regular season, but does in the playoffs. The power play over the last two years is the most obvious indication of a failure to adjust when something isnโt working. They havenโt had a plan B or C for years. If plan A fails, they lose.
@wholemars Agreed. I've never actually sent any reason for disengagement, usually because i'm busy driving, but also because it's almost always for the same reasons- navigation or parking lot/gate issues. But it would be great if we could actually send these and see results.
@bcherny@tengyanAI I burned through probably five times as many tokens (and hours of my life) with Claude having to fix its own mistakes between the time this started and the time I realized what was going on.
Hey @X , you're algo seems to be in a doom loop. It was looking pretty good ~2 months ago, but since then it's narrowed my "for you" feed into a small group of mostly the same accounts on the same subjects. It like another "following" feed, but for accounts I don't follow.
@krispuckett@openclaw@claudeai It's challenging moving OC from Claude to Codex. Honestly, just not as good. Feels like I have to walk it through too many things that Claude figured out on it's own. It doesn't keep moving like Claude, it does one task in a plan and then disappears until I check on it.
Alright @claudeai , this is getting ridiculous. Max 5x plan. Used 100% (5h block) with about 45 min of work this morning. Resets at 8am. I sent 3 basic queries just asking about Karpathy's LLM wiki concept (not building- just questions). That burns 20% of my new 5h block in 10 min.
Opus is clearly the best model out there, but at this rate, it's becoming unreliable as I can't schedule my day around Claude usage blocks/limits.
Sure, I probably shouldn't have used Opus for these questions, but still, it's just 3 questions. I'm not even close to a power user and typically only use about 50% of my weekly limit, but the 5h blocks are a problem.
@michaeljburry True. Right now, I think you really need at least 64GB of memory to run a decent model and 128 to run a great model, but that will improve over time. After using openclaw for over a month, I'm now convinced. We will be reliant on it. The market for it is everyone, really.
@U2 We're all on the front lines, jackass. Our land, money, and voting power are being given to people who hate us. But our freedom doesn't matter to you, I guess. So, fuck you and your songs.
@realroseceline Posts like this are the reason people get confused and think that they are charged taxes on each trade, when really you're taxed on total P&L for the year. The guy in this trade probably had plenty of losses throughout the year, which will impact the total taxes owed.
