Parents who have a child with Down syndrome or other genetic disabilities are more likely to stop having kids entirely.
Demanding families bring a child with down syndrome to term is inherently an antinatalist policy.

@SkulkofRoses@FAGGOTERICA I mean since downies are sterile and it's not heritable as such, it's not really eugenics. It doesn't touch upon the gene pool.
It's more, like, immediate generation quality management than a long-term thing.
@inclusion_in_fr@ColoradoOhio I am not anonymous here, my full name is in my bio.
My friends are very respectful, and care about the anonymity of their clients.
However, the facts I am told have often been quite severe and tragic, no matter how respectfully they are put forth.
@inclusion_in_fr@ColoradoOhio I have. And I have close friends who work in personal assistance as caretakers for people with disabilities, so I get to hear stories about what that is actually like.
"Independent with support" - you mean independence charade? Like, "not actually independent but let's pretend"?
@inclusion_in_fr@ColoradoOhio Only 15-30% of downies ever become semi-independent. Most, when they grow up, are like toddlers in adult bodies.
This is a very severe disability.
Why would anything else than a normal, fully functional fetus be "enough" when you can literally choose?
@cvntfyre@CuriousBunnie12 Wrong. If you can't handle the idea of aborting a defective child, you shouldn't be trying to reproduce.
Quality management is part of procreation.
@ShamashAran No, this makes sense. You want your kids to become independent adults - That's the goal, right? If that's not gonna happen, why do it?
Might as well abort and try for a better one?
When someone uses this quote, I always feel the need to double-check the lock on my kitchen cupboard where I keep my Captain Crunch colony.
Now, for those of you who don't know what a "Captain Crunch colony" is - do you guys know the sourdough cultures, kombucha cultures etc, that are passed around among enthusiasts?
Well, a couple of years ago I happened upon someone who was getting out of Captain Crunch breeding. They said it took too much time and effort.
This guy sold his entire colony for scraps, basically. Since these are rare I had to take a look, I called and said I was interested, and went across town to this guy's place immediately.
I had never seen anything like it tbh. Literally a little box of people, about as tall as my thumb is wide. I ended up buying the entire colony for, like, 1000 SEK (โ$100) after making sure they didn't have any weird fungi or parasites, and walked home, confused but happy, with a cardboard box with little people in it.
Took a while to get the colony stable tbh, I had a few instances where I nearly threw in the towel and composted the entire thing. But in hindsight I am happy I didn't.
When people get upset over abortions, I always kind of ponder what they would do if they ever found out about Captain Crunch colonies.
Like, they probably don't even know about Captain Crunch, no? That's still flies under the radar?
Children with Downโs Syndrome are human beings, made in the image of God.
โTerminating the pregnancyโ is murder.
Yes, choosing to commit murder is a โhard decision.โ
Only a particularly evil person could make it.
