This account documents the biology of the little yellow ant (Plagiolepis alluaudi), a new Invasive ant in South Florida. Currently curated by @ChouvencL
Meet the little yellow ant ( Plagiolepis alluaudi). Recently introduced in South Florida, invasive from the Madagascar area. Household nuisance, great at tending to mealybugs, supercolonial, nests in plant debris... Characteristics of a tramp ants. #ufbugs#ants#invasive
The aphid says it feels "neglected".
An ongoing investigation will determine if there was malicious intent from the ant, and If a pre-existing collusion with mealybugs have lead to such discrimination.
