@MrSombraPR@Jonah_Gates@OnePieceAnime I like to be able to do more than stare at the screen while watching stuff. Sorry, until I can learn Japanese fluently, dub is the way to go for my ADHD-having ass.
@aRomanceRoach@DoobusGoobus As one of the many southern people who helped turn Georgia blue in 2020, I think you need to realize that stereotyping people isn't cool. An educated guess based on logic would wait to see what the person says and does WITHOUT making assumptions based on preconceived notions.
@epicdndmemes My rogue uses her rogue abilities to perform as a stage magician because she wants to inspire wonder and happiness in children just like her hero did for her when she was a kid.
It's not that hard to avoid edgelord rogue stereotypes, you just gotta have a little imagination.
@J_LAyers @ProJared Sure, I hate when games come out unfinished as much as the next person, but Pokemon is NOWHERE on the level of what Cyberpunk and Andromeda were.
Video games are about fun, and I've had a lot of fun playing and riffing the game with my friends.
@laurimar @ManOfToad @golvio Also, I might be somewhat vague, but that's because I'm trying to explain things in a tight character count. You can't have this discussion properly over Twitter. It's WAY too nuanced.
@laurimar @ManOfToad @golvio Everyone. Trans people themselves, the public, scientists. You're aware that the knowledge of how being trans works comes mainly from the past two decades, right? Before that, it was just trans people trying to explain how they feel and others being like, "Nah."
@laurimar @ManOfToad @golvio Being trans is not associating with the gender you are assigned at birth. "Non-binary" is a version of being trans that does not fall within the binary of "male and female," with many variants.
Dysmorphia can come from being trans, but it's more based on how people treat you.
@laurimar @ManOfToad @golvio If trans people were just allowed to like what they want, be who they want regardless of the parts they were born with, then there'd be a lot less dysmorphia, which is the term which you're actually referring to, in the world. Dysmorphia and being trans are not mutual.
@laurimar @ManOfToad @golvio Trans people are told they can't be who they want to be. To certain people, a person with a penis enjoying feminine things is met with a response that they can't because they are a boy.
Understanding trans people is understanding how OTHERS can affect your sense of self.
@laurimar @ManOfToad @golvio Also, no one has used "in the wrong body" for a couple decades, because it's the wrong way to think of it. Trans people aren't in the wrong body, they're being told they can't do something because of the body they have.
@laurimar @ManOfToad @golvio See, that's the problem. You think being trans is about the body, but it's not. It's neurology, and a lot of what trans people deal with is gaslighting. Having a label for your identity is incredibly helpful you are trying to figure out who you are.
@laurimar @ManOfToad @golvio That's a bad way of thinking of it. Remember, a lot of kids don't understand what's "wrong" with the way they are until others, usually adults, start getting on their case for it. People aren't fixated on gender, they're fixated on defending themselves from other's attacks.
