@EdKrassen Is true, this war was no necessary, was a small group that orchestrated the killing of innocent people. Ego? Business? Freedom? Joining EU? Call it as you want, it was not necessary and preventable.

Playgrounds and the Moral Blindness of Ozempic Cheerleaders:
I was at a playground yesterday, and nearly every child was obese. Many were visibly eating or drinking processed, sugary crap.
It's so obvious and simple: we are poisoning our kids at scale.
Parents aren't trying to do this - they are actually following government subsidies and guidelines to give kids these deadly products. The USDA says 2-year-olds should have 10% of their diet be added sugar. The US government subsidizes cigarettes more than vegetables.
Looking at these poor, obese children inhaling ultra-processed garbage, I got emotional.
Almost certainly, those kids are on a treademill of increasing comorbotieis and treatments - statins, metformin, IVF (they'll almost certainly be infertile), SSRIs (depression highly tied to metabolic dysfunction, and of course now lifetime injections of Ozempic.
This message of "take a lifetime drug to cover up every symptom" without learning better habits and learning to stop poisoning themselves will of course mean these children will lead less optimal, more tortured, more depressed and undoubtedly shorter lives.
This chronic disease industrial complex has created the largest and fastest growing industry in the country (healthcare) -- and this was built on the backs of peer-reviewed study after peer-reviewed study saying the next intervention is going to make us healthier. In fact, there hasn't been a chronic disease pharmacetucail product in American history that has lowered rates of the chronic disease it is trying to treat.
But we keep falling for the trap. We are literally being told - with the help of bogus "peer-reviewed" research, that jabbing children every week of their lives for the rest of their lives (WITHOUT focusing on just stopping to poison them) will make them healthier.
The most disturbing aspect of the argument for mass injecting children with GLP-1s is that "the Majority of the US population is overweight, so we of course need to prioritize treatments." No, we need to prioritize not poisoning kids.
Of course, the pill pushers who make money from this are making this argument. We expect that. Sadly, investor I respect like @garrytan and @alexisohanian are letting their financial interests blind them to these realities as well. And let's be very clear what they are aruguing for: trillions of government subsidies to start injecting the majority of US children with a drug you cannot stop using without suffering extensive metabolic consequences. The company they are supporting is advertising to millennials on TikTok and in NYC subway ads that they need Ozempic.
The reason there is such a fight for Ozempic is because it will be the most revenue generating drug in histroy If approved by the government for obesity.
If Ozempic is approved for government funding, overnight the American taxpayer will spend more to fund the injectable than the entire defense department. All in service of a war we know we will lose.
It is so simple: We are recommending and subsidizing poison for kids. We should stop that - and can.
The President, head of the NIH, and President of Harvard Med School could go to Congress tomorrow and say emphatically that we are killing our kids because of our compromised food supply and we need to stop recommending and subsidizing ultra-processed garbage.
The biggest lie in this debate is that leadership on this issue can't happen extremely quickly - producing unprecedented improvement in childhood health and US human capital.
