Dubas would be such a wizard if this happened. He’s talked so much about asset management and loading up draft picks, just so he could put himself in position to do something like this. All without giving up players that affect the future.

An idea that was floated to me was the possibility of Pittsburgh trading down from 12, to gain the assets to move from 11 into the 5-8 range.

Pittsburgh would still want to kicks at the can in the top-20, but want to pick higher with their first shot at it.

Hearing from sources that the group of Ron Burkle, Mario Lemieux and David Morehouse are investigating the possibility of buying back the Penguins from Fenway Sports. Burkle and Lemieux sold the Penguins to Fenway in 2021. Fenway has been looking to sell a partial share. Will be interesting to see where this goes…

@ArblasterLogan I was wondering how they’d approach the beginning of this 7 games in 7 days. Had to figure Sullivan would catch at some point. IKF hasn’t sat in a while, Triolo has been on a tiny run here, and Horwitz almost has to play due to sitting last 2 vs LHP.

@ArblasterLogan The run game is the biggest key to the year imo. The moonballs by Russ were great and all, but they also shortened the time of even the scoring drives. Hopefully with AR12 the focus can be run heavy, short and mid range plays, allowing the defense to do the job they’re paid to do

Muse is a coach that checks all the developmental boxes. Has coached at basically every level (either as an assistant or head coach), and had good success with the Rangers PK the last couple years.

Can’t wait to see what he does with the young guys.

I randomly reminded myself this morning that Tommy Novak is a Penguin for the next 2 years. I think people forget he’s a useful piece.
