NRM youth member Gold Ikyiriza, has announced her intention to contest for the position of National Female Youth MP. The position is currently held by State Minister for Minerals, Phiona Nyamutooro.

Ikyiriza has pledged to tackle youth unemployment, limited healthcare access, and climate change. She also called for increased female youth participation in leadership and proposed creating a dedicated Ministry of Youth.
She officially launched her manifesto during a press conference held at Fairway Hotel in Kampala.
