If it’s a short term injury, something that would keep Lowe out between now and the ASB. I like the suggestion of moving Horwitz to 2B, ROH to 1B, and bringing Valdez back up to play RF.

If Lowe is out for a long time, 2+ months. I would consider giving Termarr a look. A trade is unlikely. Keep Nicky G at 3B, have KG at SS when he's ready and Triolo to the bench. It would require someone to be cut from the 40-man. It's a possible upside play.

Watching the Cubs/Giants, I think the #Pirates should add Ray and Arraez. Both would help the team. Ray can help being an experienced left hand starter. Arraez would be a solid 9 hitter to flip the lineup over and move Lowe to full time DH.

In the AL, even a team like Detroit who’s 13 games under .500 are still in contention being 6.5 games out.

The AL West is wide open for any team outside of LAA being able to win it.

There are a lot of teams that come August 3rd will still think they’re in it.

I think MLB is starting to even out and we’re heading to WC teams likely finishing with 82-84 wins.

In the NL, the three teams leading the divisions (Atl, Mil, LAD) unless there is some collapse are going to run away with them.

Other than SF and Colo all teams are alive.

Pirates went 16-12 this month. Have a really tough start of June. Trips to Houston and Atlanta before playing the Dodgers at home. 5-4 would be ideal.

Pirates have played 14 games in the division and are 7-7. The Cards and the Reds have each played 4 games in the division, Cubs 3 and Brewers 3. Obviously, those will all balance out, but the Pirates only have 38 games left in the division out of the remaining 129 games.

Pirates have 28 games this month. The winning percentage of the teams they face is .439. They play 3 series in the division (v. Cin, @ STL, @ Cubs). They make their first of 3 trips out west. At this rate 14-14 would be okay. I think the division is going to start to struggle.
