Today is International Archaeology Day from @archaeology_aia - shout-out to all our US followers!
There's so much to learn about the archaeology of our own country & others - here's some of the research we've been undertaking recently...

@ManMadeMoon@curiousme159662@Ed_Miliband Great potential in thermal storage such as the Kyoto molten salt system which converts renewable into heat which it later releases to provide steam for electricity generation. Norwegian's always one step ahead! https://t.co/V85RJu2UJE
Great to see the results from @GongylusGames student project @leedsbeckett exploring the reuse of #3D cultural heritage data in the creative arts and gamed design sectors. Just one of the many different reuse case studies from the EU cofunded #5Dculture project.
Today’s the launch of the Irish Stone Axe Project: Digital Collection
This image catalogue has 366 axeheads from the ISAP database & includes scaled photos, artefact drawings
& petrological thin sections
It's now publicly available through @dri_ireland🥳 https://t.co/0i4caGlGdc
Great to meet up with #5Dculture partners at @UniFerrara - Dipartimento di Architettura, to plan activities for the final phase of the project & explore new opportunities for reuse of #3D cultural heritage. Good opportunity to present to students & staff on developments @discprog
Happy Easter! Our Easter treats have an archaeology twist – chocolate moulds created from 3D prints! We recorded these decorative heads at Customs House, Dublin using photogrammetry. This delicious re-use of 3D data is part of #5DCultures project @HeritageHubIRE@opwireland
Happy #StPatricksDay from everyone at DP! Here's the c.9th century High Cross of St Patrick & St Columba from Kells, Co. Meath
Scanned in 2015, thanks to our work on #5Dculture find our newly improved 3D model on @Sketchfab https://t.co/fyWIEHk3jK

Sad to say that, just shy of 7 years at Sketchfab, I'm part of the Epic Games layoffs.
Not sure what's next for me / what it means the cultural heritage program, but for now I'm just letting it sink in.
Any suggestions for remote work related to 3D + museum-y stuff welcome 🙏
