@LangmanVince The new spot is closer than the Cowboys are to the city of Dallas and the 49ers are to the city of San Francisco. Seems perfectly reasonable on the Bears part.
@tadgh_dc They are low balling the pay by a country mile. I live in Atlanta and have been called by head hunters for various Sysadmin/infra engineer type roles there all paying 25-50k below market. It’s the plan.
@ThomBrady5 What do Harvard MBAs actually do other than working for Deloitte or McKinsey feeding CEOs strategies on how to ship everyone else’s job to other countries?
Serious question.
How is this not mechanized cheating? When I was in school, If I had just grabbed code from random blogs or open source and submitted it with changed comments and variable names I’d have been kicked out for cheating. Why are they not expelled for this? The ai read the code and copied it.
@ChiefEngineerCE@cosmchk Seems like they are low balling the salary. That’s a 90-100k position in the middle of the country. Should be that or more in New York.seems like they make it low so locals don’t apply the. They get an H1B and who knows what they actually pay.
@Polymarket Every “white collar” worker for the most part is a M365 subscriber. So MS is going to lose $35-60/mo not including add on options for every single one of those terminations. Is AI billing gonna make up the revenue gap?
@FoxNews Serious question couldn’t the neigbors all collectively go to court and get a restraining order against the company? Then they could face penalties for this crap.
@DrNeilStone She may well be incorrect but it’d be quite helpful if you point us to the evidence that she is incorrect rather than just saying she’s incorrect.
Not always. Person driving a 5 yo car goes to lease a Mercedes because they think that tiney raise they got being promoted from supervisor to senior supervisor at the local warehouse entitles them to flex. Suddenly they can’t afford the payment even with the most ludicrous financing options so they stay in the old beater and save some cash and a lot of financial heart ache.
@om_patel5 File a claim in small claims court. Add up the money overcharge and the value of the hours worked - if everyone who gets screwed over by these automated customer service bots just floods the zone with actual legal claims things will change.
@om_patel5 Any system that’s being implemented in an enterprise should go thru legal review. Your attorney reads the T&C docs and contract and negotiates ammendments for situations like service termination, customer driven cancellation and other such scenarios. Did this org not do that?
I think #claude and other fee per token enterprise AIs should be required to have cost showback in the user interface on by default. I feel like I should be able to see the real cost of a task. Is it really worth getting a power shell script in 20 seconds that I could make in 20min? Let’s say an engineer makes $50 an hour. A 60 minute task will cost $50, so do the needed AI tokens cost $5 which makes using ai a no brainer, or do they cost say $60 which makes it less ideal?
It’s time for the FCC or, for cable and streaming, congress, to get involved. Sports in general and racing specifically have become so loaded with ads that they are unwatchable.
The only form of racing that’s remotely watchable is F1 and the rules package this year rendered that unwatchable.
