Whoever fights monsters should see to it that he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.
Disgraced ex-RTE presenter Ryan Tubridy to run for Fianna Fail in the next general election? Tubridy was MC-ing at a FF event in Galway last weekend.
Not sure how much of this Coimisiun na Mean-funded story in the Connacht Tribune we can believe, it's the Independent's Mary Regan not RTE's Mary O'Regan, right? Anyway, it's funded by the CnM Local Democracy Reporting Scheme.
Tubridy & FF? Sounds about right.

Those government TD's who voted to scrap the triple lock last night, should never be allowed to forget it if our people become embroiled in a foreign war on behalf of an international organisation.
But the TD's who didnt turn up to vote such as John Mc Guinness should be equally ashamed.
This isn't the first time that John hasn't bothered to vote on a contentious matter. He also went missing when there was a vote on the EU migration pact for instance.
These lads are paid over 100k a year and to hide when the pressure is on highlights their cowardice.
Aristotle said that "Courage is the first of human virtues because it makes all others possible."
These government TD's have no courage. They are political eunuchs.

@ThomasByrneTD@OireachtasNews It really is time for the Irish people to come together and march on Leinster House to rid our great country of these condescending, incompetent " politicians" .
All hell breaking loose in #Dail with the Opposition demanding, at a minimum, the removal of a cap (or "guillotine") to the 3.5 hr debate on Ditching the Triple Lock tomorrow, and to allow a longer debate. The government refuses, it wants to ram this through.
The Dail is the first theatre of this war to #DefendTheTripleLock (and it's not 100% certain that all FF TDs will fall into line), it will likely need street demonstrations and legal challenge.
We should have had six months of media debate to air all sides, but it has been suppressed from the agenda, a reminder of the guests on RTE's flagship weekend current affairs programme in the past year (Bríd Smith was the lone pro-Triple Lock voice).
Ben Scallan asks Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill if she'd accept that the State is culpable for the National Children's Hospital cost and time overruns because it signed a bad contract. She declines to answer.
Neale Richmond believes tackling the aids epidemic in Africa is "the right thing to do" when pensioners in Ireland won't be able to heat their homes this winter.
These politicians want to solve the world's problems at the expense of our own citizens.
Many of us believe this is precisely the wrong thing to do, Neale.

Name the law. Give the date.
I asked Minister Helen McEntee for both in the Dáil today. I got neither.
No memo to Cabinet. No Government decision. No date. Just a note saying John Barrett was dismissed on the Garda Commissioner's recommendation.
Instead of answers, Ministers heckled and talked over me.
I am not letting this go.
🇮🇪 Irish politician Ken O’Flynn just went NUCLEAR on the Irish Government:
“You blame Trump for everything, but he doesn’t run this Country. YOU introduced the Carbon Tax. YOU turned the Army on the people. If any of you have a backbone, vote to collapse this Government.”🔥
This genius pulls in over €250,000 a year, more than Brit PM ffs.
Teachers and nurses are on a fraction of this guys salary. The brutal, arrogant, overpaid Irish Elite look after themselves only.
