@m_brosnan@TsuDhoNim The hooter in any form is an attempt to solve a problem that didn't exist in a material way. Clock certainty rewards playing for the final shot/depriving a final shot. You can count on your hands the amount of real controversies over the old form of timekeeping the last 30 years
@gcooney93 Having absolute certainty as to how long is left encourages keep-ball tactics when holding on to a narrow lead, a major drawback of the hooter system. Given timekeeping wasn't a significant issue before the FRC, is it worth the sometimes farce/sometimes anticlimax we often get?
@IrishRail It was around halfway down the train. I was sitting on the last seat on the right as you face the direction the train was traveling. If he finds it, will I be able to collect from Bray this evening? I can also collect in Seapoint if the train is heading back into the city
@IrishRail Hi, I just got off the southbound Dart at Seapoint and left my wallet on the seat. Can you please let the driver know? I can drive to Bray to collect this evening
@RefComeOn It was a novelty jersey released for St Patrick's Day in 2013. Part of a broader promotion where they released all county jerseys in the colours of the Irish flag. Definitely not match worn, no GAA logo is the giveaway on that.
@CahairOKane1 The final one is not fully accurate, 1 win would only do if it was against Hungary. If we beat Portugal but lose to Hungary, they'd finish ahead of us even if they lose in Yerevan.
@EndaMcGearty @officialgaa That's something else and happens far less often. I'm still not clear on how that really impacts a fan's enjoyment? The most watched league in the world has starting teams and squads announced an hour before the start, it creates discussion and excitement up to kick off
@EndaMcGearty @officialgaa Can a supporter not process that number 23 on the programme is starting at corner forward instead of number 15? Or whatever other changes? How does that materially affect their enjoyment of the game, or even the value of the team sheet in the programme?
@EndaMcGearty @officialgaa In what way is it disrespectful to supporters? I think it's pointless to force teams to name teams which are then changed before throw-in, but I fail to see how it's disrespectful to supporters.
@hughcahill7 @ross_morrissey @GavanCasey The ref clearly indicated a point deduction with 18 seconds to go in round 1, which was noted and commented upon on the Eurosport feed
@RefComeOn Irish names always in italics on roadsigns. Balla is the same in Irish and English so no point having the same thing twice. The Irish language takes precedence (even though the names are identical) hence you end up with it in italics
Win, lose our draw. The emotion and happiness that @MayoGAA has brought to me is amazing. It brings families/friends and strangers together like nothing else.
People ask what will I do if we lose?... that's not an issue, I have been through that 10 times over. What if we win...
