Islam is the religion of Satan.
It's interesting that the debate in Islam here is (or appears to be) when you can classify a woman as a slave girl for the purpose of raping her.
But in Islam, "rape" doesn't exist in such circumstances because it is impossible to "rape" property, whether that property is a slave girl, slave boy, or donkey.
@BlackLabelAdvsr Be fruitful and multiply is a command that few follow these days.
More people tend to be interested in objects and vacations. They intentionally prevent the blessings that are children in order to attain worldly pleasure.
I admire these fathers, if it's with 1 woman.
@resetbasis Funny thing is, I've called on all kinds of real estate over the years. Owners of small- to mid-size multifamily are the grumpiest people I've ever met. As a category.
I never want to own multifamily, and those calls are the reason why.
Courts of Heaven is an idea popularized by Robert Henderson and is gaining traction. It is a false teaching.
It teaches that because we, those who are in Christ, are to judge the angels (1 Cor 6:2-3), that means we have the authority to judge demons here on earth now.
Multiple verses are cited to justify this authority:
Daniel 7:9-10; 21-22
Zachariah 3:1-7
Hebrews 12:22-24
Luke 18:1-8
The problem with Courts of Heaven is that it teaches we have the authority now, on earth. In fact, all of the above-cited verses which Henderson uses to support Courts of Heaven judgment of demons are looking to the future--none give present authority. And in Zechariah 3, the angel rebukes Satan: He does not judge Satan.
The fact is that Judgment Day comes at one time. Ongoing judgment for sins is not happening (in the eternal sense) for either humans or angels/demons. Let me prove this with Jude 1:6:
[6] And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day—
In fact, claiming authority to judge these demons now is blasphemy. Here is Jude 1:8-13 on the subject. Note the Jude also cites Zecharaiah 3 like Henderson does, and he comes to a different conclusion from Henderson:
[8] Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones. [9] But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.” [10] But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively. [11] Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam’s error and perished in Korah’s rebellion. [12] These are hidden reefs at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, shepherds feeding themselves; waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted; [13] wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever.
Finally, in Zechariah 3:6-7, we are given instruction for how we will have the authority to judge in God's Courts, which of course would necessarily have to come after we are judged ourselves.
[6] And the angel of the Lord solemnly assured Joshua, [7] “Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my charge, then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here.
I was unaware that NIV also makes this error. Thanks for letting me know. You should dig into the Greek on 5:21.
I never said anything about equality.
Submission is not about equality. It is about authority. In the same way that we are called to submit to governmental and Christ's authority, wives are called to submit to our authority.
It only references authority. Many modern pastors add so much to it that has no basis in the actual Greek word.
@MikeWingerii Have you made an effort to reach out to these people?
I saw John Bevere speak today at church, and he's very thorough and well-studied. I am surprised he would endorse this version if he knew the truth about it.
@annhybri Christ.
Who does Christ submit to? God.
1 Corinthians 11:3
But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.
Really bad theology.
Problem #1: You're citing the NLT version of Eph 5:21. NLT is in error here. This verse is actually a part of the same sentence as verses 18-20, and they all go together. Those are commands for the church.
Problem #2: You skip Eph 5:24, which says the wife submits to the husband in ALL things. All means all, all of the time. Husband is not called to submit to the wife, as the Christ never submitted to the church.
@nickroberts317 Straight up and down the east coast would make the most sense for a single line. 1 out of 6 Americans live between Boston and Washington, D.C.
@SteveOnSpeed If you bought a house before April 2022, probably $90k. If you don't own or bought after June 2022, $120-130k to afford the same lifestyle.
I live in Metro Detroit, for reference.
I had an issue connecting to Grok today. It wouldn't load on my browser.
Grok (on X) advised me to uninstall my network connection devices. It said it wouldn't be an issue and was safe.
Now I'm 2 hours into trying to get wifi reinstalled on my computer.
Thanks @grok!
