Don’t let anyone con you: $1,000,000 is life-changing money for 90% of the world’s population.
The “$1M is nothing” crowd is made up of underachievers living in their parents’ basement who will never have anywhere near a mil.
Building wealth is the same way. Nobody applauds:
- Saying no
- Investing 25%
- Tracking spending
- Paying yourself first
This builds wealth.
Complaining that everyone is out to get you doesn’t.
A lot of fatherhood is doing things nobody will applaud.
Showing up tired.
Keeping your promises.
Being patient when frustrated.
Making time when you're busy.
It's not glamorous.
But those little decisions, repeated over years, are how you build a family.
@mjwerry It's nuts what's happening to our neighbors to the North. It's a slow but meticulous decline, and it's absolutely terrible to watch. This documentary is a must watch if you live in Canada - or anywhere near it!
I might take AirBnBs more seriously if this is real. Might.
Based on principle, I don’t want to be charged a cleaning fee and be expected to clean the house and start the laundry before I go.
How was that EVER acceptable?
Airbnb is banning hosts from requiring guests to wash dishes, do laundry, or complete other "unreasonable" chores
Hosts who violate the policy could face warnings, flagged listings, and reduced visibility
@rareliquidity Get the company match (if you have one). The 401(k) will reduce your taxable income, but you'd need to do the math to determine just how much to contribute to your 401(k) before funneling the rest into brokerage.
What's your protocol when you leave an Airbnb and something didn't work/went wrong?
Do you leave a negative review, or do you focus on the positives in the public review and send the owner a private message about the problems?
What money actually buys:
$5,000: Breathing room
$10,000: Starter emergency fund
$100,000: Options appear
$1M: Work becomes optional
$10M: Generational wealth unlocked
$100M: Influence, not just freedom
$1B: Building institutions, not just a portfolio
@Chrisinho175 We've had beds literally fall apart, hot water heaters that barely function, pots and plates from the 60s.
It's like owners put all the junk and things that don't work in their Airbnbs because, who cares, it's not like THEY are living there.
We always read reviews, BTW.

The wider choppy structure is still in play.
Today, we may get a good move if the right conditions develop at the right level and at the right time.
For now, patience matters more than forcing an entry. I’m watching for a clean reaction and clear confirmation before taking any setup.
