The ego to think a team of A-leaguers could beat a squad with guys who compete across top 5 European leagues and in the ucl is what the rest of the world acts like America has
Chelsea Transfer Window:
When journalists with decent connections to club comms come out & downplay links, sometimes it’s true but many times it’s the club preferring to work in silence and also not wanting a name out there in case they don’t get them.
Chelsea pay (too much) attention to social media. They see rumors and like to shut down what they can. We already saw this with Carreras. @siphillipssport, myself & others said there was interest, then the next day a journalist who speaks to club comms said there wasn’t really, then the next day Fabrizio says there is.
For instance, despite it being “shut down” today, I 100% know we have interest in Ethan Nwaneri. Doesn’t mean he’ll end up at Chelsea, but the interest is concrete. Why we choose to shut that down publicly? That’s up for you to decipher. And yes, there is also interest in Bergvall, but like I said on our show yesterday, it’s to a lesser extent most likely than an Alex Scott, Wharton, etc.
The transfer window is tricky and day to day there are mixed messages, even from the top journalists. Mainly because clubs, agents & players play games and use public reports as leverage.
