Labour have:

"The inheritance tax may mean the I'm the last generation farmer."
Farmer Judith says Labour's inheritance tax plan could be the end of her family farm.
I simply cannot believe that the time available to MPs to debate a decision that could led to thousands of people receiving state assistance in ending their lives prematurely isโฆ 5 hours.
Nor that an argument currently doing the rounds in parliament to win over uncertain MPs is that we โalready haveโ outstanding palliative care in the UK, so nobody fails to receive the best care. We do not. We are so, so far from it. UK palliative care in 2024 is a desperately under-resourced Cinderella service and this is causing untold avoidable suffering for patients who sometimes long to end their lives because WE failed to fund the care that might make life still worth living.
Fix that first - please - then talk about assisted dying.
Please donโt ignore or disbelieve what those of us who work in palliative care witness daily.
I once believed that the Israeli government's slaughter of civilians was indiscriminate. I was completely wrong. It is deliberate, massive and plainly genocidal.
โHow would anyone know if someone had been coerced [into assisted dying]?โ

๐๏ธMidweek read!
๐ถโโ๏ธThe upper end of High Street sees hundreds of thousands pass by every year on their way to Glasgow Cathedral. It should be stuffed with independent shops and cafes.
Instead traders say they've literally been left to rot. But, by who? https://t.co/FKF5poT6UZ
@kavanpstafford Also that art is it's own reward. You see this belief held sincerely, as opposed to a means of exploitation & oppression, a lot more in left circles than right
@JohnWMacPherson@CivicLilly1 Tbh I'm unsure. I think it's the colourisation that makes it look fake (cos it is). Although I could be wrong... I'd have to reverse image search but I'm on my phone & it's just before I send the little darlings to bed!
@JohnWMacPherson@CivicLilly1 I believe it's a colourised one. And it's not Halloween it's a historical folk festival. Although I can't remember which & which country. Bavarian maybe, I've seen the image before
Tam Shepherds, a Glasgow institution since 1886, have closed their joke shop, believed to be the world's oldest, due to high costs and redevelopment in the area. The good news is their online shop remains open. I'm sure many of you have fond memories of visiting this wee place.
