list of things i did that individually made me forget death stranding isnt real life, specifically my real life (is it obvious how prone i am to the tetris effect)

seems like nvidia accepted the leak bc they made a video about dlss 5 just now. takeaways are that they still insist its not a filter, and they spent ages coping about how path tracing looks better than rasterisation as though that wasnt already true and they contribute nothing
i recreated the material of the hat from back to the future. its quite a heavy approximation as the colours come from a diffraction grating creating interference that differs due to the wavelike properties of light which are not simulated in blender
@axolowtakino its mostly just the same thing iterated over and over since the effect is duplication of specular reflections. also i did not realise before how desaturated and grey it looks on a normal screen brightness so i will probably change that

photo is a fun word to type on touch screen because naively you might think all letters on the right side of the keyboard are right thumb territory, however this word is perfectly optimised for both thumbs on the right
the part of my brain that thinks 2d art should be like 3d and wants every factor impacting light as it’s own multiply layer is very much conflicting with the the part of my brain that thinks digital art should be like traditional art and demands only one layer and force of will
i finally cracked this one. originally i thought it was rubbish because of all the depth cues but then i did it by imagining it to be inside out. that way the frame became more malleable in my eyes
