The reality is that abusers don’t make it easy. They don’t disappear even if you leave. They find insidious ways of being in the periphery of your life.
If I die on a city road without a protected bike lane, I don't want a ghost bike. I want a memorial bike lane. And if the city says it's not possible, I want people to advocate until it is.
Meanwhile she appointed a chancellor from Indianapolis, Superintendent came from Philadelphia public schools, and Deputy Mayor of Education came from Philadelphia, the words don’t match the actions. But 4 more years, yay! 💚
This calculator doesn’t factor in my job (or, as my ma points out, “how pushy your mother is”), but from demographics alone @CJR calculates I would be worth 7 news stories if I went missing due to systemic bias in how missing people in America are covered. https://t.co/JsNBSBpL4S

@DDOTDC@311DCgov I understand the Central Ave Safety Improvements are underway but this sidewalk has already been blocked by this light pole then you put the sign on the sidewalk (5234 Central Ave SE) to further block it forcing people to the street 😒 #MakeItMakeSense
I had a great time knocking doors for @devMmyers - who will make a great Ward 7 Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner. Highlights included some Halloween decorations and a future voter (maybe six years old) complimenting my @BailiwickCrewDC “The District” shirt. ☀️☀️☀️
Not that anyone asked me, and apropos of nothing, here are my wishes for DC Councilmembers:
1) If you have oversight of an agency, make them show their work. Do not take their word for it, ask them for data and legal citations.
If we don’t fight, we lose. If we stay silent, we lose. We have already seen the closure of over 30 schools, most of them in wards 5, 7 and 8. We have seen inequitable funding. We have seen a racist teacher evaluation system force out countless experienced black educators. ENOUGH
what an incredible week - huge kudos to the staff, students, and everyone who supported!! when labor wins, we all win!!
...and I think I know which university is next 🤔🤔🤔#raisehigh
A thoughtful look at @piescarcega, the LA Times and what it is like to be discriminated against by your employer

I'm biased because I'm a true fan of her work, but I think everyone should read this, even if you aren't familiar with the story
@infinitebuffalo@antniosrz @rondtjr @erinfordc I'm not supposed to be on Twitter this month but popped in to spy on my daughter. And what do I see? This good stuff. @erinfordc DOES have a point!
