🚨MEPs must reject the EU proposal to weaken wolf protections
Experts & citizens agree the proposal is premature, unscientific & threatens biodiversity. 320,000+ voices call for continued strict protection.
Farming & wolves can coexist - with real solutions 🐺#HandsOffNature
Storms will be more powerful and more frequent as the global average temperature continues to climb as a result of human activities. We can vote on Friday for the politicians who are brave enough to do the right things to protect us all, restore nature, and reduce emissions.
There's been plenty of talk from candidates in #GE24 on what they'll do to stop water pollution BUT will they commit to the tough changes that are really needed and save our water species OR are they talking more faeces?

This week I'm in Cali 🇨🇴 representing @IrishEnvNet at CBD #COP16. The Kuming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework gives us a window of opportunity to #RestoreNature. One of the questions world leaders will be grappling with this week is how restoration is funded.
This massive data centre planned in Co. Kildare would generate most of its electricity using on-site fossil gas turbines, to overcome the constraints in the local power network. It would emit an astonishing *29 million tonnes* of CO2 over its lifetime..

@William24897285@swanireland It’s not purposely misleading at all. It’s the measurement of the % of waters that are healthy agreed & used across the EU. If you don’t include “high” quality waterbodies as healthy then that would be misleading. The trend line shows when cow nos are up healthy waters are down.
@William24897285@swanireland So “good status” in water quality is when a waterbody is “good” or above (i.e “high”). So those two %s are added in the graph to show “good status”. But I admit it is confusing I should have but “satisfactory” or “healthy”.
P4 of this explains it better. https://t.co/JMOp0aQvgm
@William24897285@swanireland Not exactly 45 years ago but you can see that there is a general correlation between cow numbers and river water quality in Ireland over the years.
Also more intensive farms these days.
