Einstein's wife was smarter than him but history erased her. Mileva Maric was brilliant, for the swiss federal polytechnic, she even scored higher than Einstein in math. They both studied together. But when she lost their baby, she gave up her own career and stood behind Einstein's rise. In 1905 Einstein published his four revolutionary papers (including special relativity and E=mc2) but only his name appeared while his wife helped him significantly with mathematics, proofreading etc. later, he treated her coldly, even wrote strict rules she had to follow just to stay with him. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1909. Mileva received part of Einstein's later noble prize money but faded from scientific history, raising their sons alone. Her contributions were largely erased due to era's sexism, and lack of credit for women in science. She spent the rest of her life in silence, raising children..while the world worshipped Einstein.
