LGBTQIA+ group Bahaghari in a statement condemned the US Embassy's presence at the Pride event held in Quezon City on June 22, 2024. The group asserts that the US has no place in Pride events in the country as long as there is no justice for Jennifer Laude, a Filipina trans woman killed by US soldier Joseph Scott Pemberton in 2014.

10 years after, justice for Jennifer remains elusive.
