The ruling on SB 5974 was a victory for the rule of law and the Constitution.
Judge Schaller broke her ruling into sections. So, I will have to review every thing to make sure I didn’t miss too much.
But here’s some of what she ruled:
Sheriffs are elected officials and they should not be treated differently than other elected officials.
Sheriffs, like other politicians, have First Amendment rights.
The legislature cannot empower the Criminal Justice Training Commission to remove a duly elected sheriff from office.
I’ll say this again. The only person standing between you and the overreach of Democrat controlled legislature is your sheriff.
Meta killed all of my accounts off again. This is the second time it's happened to me. It was a massive amount of work using ChatGPT Astra to get them back. I think I'm going to make a video about that and it brings me to the realization once again that I have to really focus on building my own stuff.
I've been building a new website, https://t.co/E5Webqxgts, and a newsletter and this will all be really going and really launched here hopefully in the next 30 days. Right now it's just kind of in beta but I have to get some of the audience off of all these platforms because, on a dime, they can just decide to pull the plug. There's no one to talk to, no way to fix it. They don't care. The law doesn't care. The courts don't care. The only thing to do is to build on the platforms and then do whatever you can to move them somewhere else.
All social media is controlled by the platforms. You don't own any of it. You're building on rented land.
Build there, absolutely. But while you're doing it, work on taking your people and your communities off those platforms and into places you control.
Because they can change the rules or take it all away from you at any time.
10 Questions about the intentions of the WA State legislature and their unconstitutional income tax
1. If this tax is only for millionaires, why did the Legislature rewrite 11 pension statutes and strip the tax-and-garnishment shield public retirees have had since 1947?
2. Why did they reject an amendment that would have kept public pension and social security retirement accounts off the income-tax menu?
3. If the $1 million floor is a real promise, why did they refuse to lock it in during session - and actually voted against a proposed amendment to do so?
4. Why should anyone trust the “only millionaires” line after Senate Majority Leader Jamie Pedersen called the 2024 income-tax ban a “pie-crust promise — easily made, easily broken”?
5. If the tax doesn’t start until 2028, and is only supposed to be applied to a small number of taxpayers, why is the state creating a WA State IRS— already hired over 100 people targeting up to 300 people just to administer it — and planning $500 millions for enforcement?
6. Why attach an emergency clause to block a referendum if they were confident voters would keep this tax?
7. Why does a married couple get only one $1 million joint deduction but if the same two people divorced they would get one each — and what happens when the next budget hole appears?
8. If they needed to “open the pension account” now, what stops them from taxing a teacher, cop, or state-worker paycheck later?
9. After the legislature actually voted to ban income taxes in 2024, why should we believe the same Legislature won’t expand this one the moment revenue falls short?
10. If the pitch is “you’ll never pay it,” why build a full income-tax machine — auditors, software, liens, and pension access — before a single dollar is collected?
Bonus question:
11. If they were sure this tax is legal and popular, why skip a constitutional amendment that voters would have to approve — and instead pass a tax the 1933 Culliton ruling treats as unconstitutional, then try to get the Supreme Court to rubber-stamp the workaround?
….Vote Yes to Repeal.
@HermesWatcher It really is. I have Hermes, Codex, Claude Code, and Grok Bot all talking through discord right now to hand off tasks. And I am not a programmer. My ability to actually build and launch whiteout a programmer background blows my mind
The last two days I've been blessed to speak in front of two pretty big groups of amazing people about the real estate industry.
The market is not perfect right now. The economy is a little beat up. But I really believe these are the times when the seeds of opportunity get planted, when great businesses get built, and when people make their next move forward.
I'm seeing people right now, our businesses included, who are massively outperforming the market. What separates them? What are they doing differently?
Honestly, they're showing up. They're having fun, leaning in, solving problems, and having real conversations with their clients about what is actually happening. Then they're helping those clients see opportunities they probably would not have seen on their own.
There is still a ton of opportunity in this market. Some people are just doing a much better job of going out and finding it.
