Sir, in addition to the previous comment, we wish in Romania things were as satisfactory as you are presenting them, but, withheld from gross salary:
- pension contribution → 25 % of gross
- health insurance contribution → 10 % of gross → “free” access to public hospitals (with all kinds of healthcare-associated infections, extremely poor conditions, and medical staff who still expect to receive bribes in exchange for the services they should provide).
- Income tax → 10 % applied on the taxable base Total withheld from an employee’s gross: ≈ 45 % of gross salary
It is no longer meaningful to discuss wages, the standard of living and inflation in Romania. Romania is far from being "resonable".
