I cannot remember the United States ever apologising for "overcapacity" when it was the world's leading industrial power. Should Italy apologise for its overcapacity in fashion, France for its overcapacity in wine, the UK for its overcapacity in financial services, or Belgium for its overcapacity in chocolate?
*** The real challenge of our time is that centuries of Western dominance have come to an end, and there is a need to adjust to a multipolar world.
USA kommer få ”operativ kontroll” över Grönland innan år 2029 enligt president Trump.
Och detta lands trupper bjuder vi in att med, i det närmaste, åtalsimmunitet okupera fosterlandet?
Skämmes @moderaterna.

@nschillagi Probably because the world has got their eyes on Israel and all terrible crimes that state is guilty of. Messi is linked to Israel. People didn’t care before.
‘They set us up to sink on behalf of Israel - USS Liberty survivor
Ahead of his House speech calling for an investigation into Israel’s 1967 attack on the USS Liberty, outgoing Republican Rep. Thomas Massie met with some of the survivors in his office.
One survivor confirmed to Massie that they were intentionally “set up” to be sunk by Israel as a false flag.
“LBJ sent us there alone. We asked for destroyer escorts, and we were denied them twice. And they wanted us to sink on behalf of Israel and start the war,” he says.
He adds that “help didn't even come to us for 17 hours.”
Umland, who backed a neo-Nazi call for total mobilization in Ukraine, Shekhovtsov, who headed the Dugin's organization in Crimea, & their ilk resort to a Stalinist-like denunciation of my open access book “The Russia-Ukraine War and its Origins” https://t.co/gLEALiIwBb
They and their ilk want not only to censor my book but also to go after my university job and subject me to criminal persecution/sanctions by Zelensky regime because they are incapable of challenging my evidence-based analysis. Their denunciation is based on primitive fraud, fakes, and slander.
Open-access publication of my book was funded by open access publication grant from the University of Ottawa & over 350 GoFundMe contributors. Elon Musk did not fund my book but helped to reverse attempt to block my GoFundMe. I publicly thanked Elon Musk and all contributors, whom Umland, Shekhovtsov & their ilk also slander.
They also propagate primitive fakes about popularity of my book falsely claiming that Musk covertly promotes its views and downloads on X. Like their Soviet counterparts denouncing books, which they did not read, they did not even read the book’s preface or read it but propagated deliberate fraud nevertherless:
“My academic publications, which primarily concern conflicts and politics in Ukraine, have reached over 2,000,000 reads and downloads just on my academic websites and the publisher sites. My research-based Twitter and Facebook posts and YouTube videos reached over 125,000,000 views. I am one of the most cited political scientists who specialize primarily in politics and conflicts in Ukraine. My research-based publications, interviews, and comments appeared in more than 4,000 media reports in more than 80 countries.”
My book is peer-reviewed and endorsed by four leading American, British, and Ukrainian scholars. It is based on primary evidence and not on narratives propagated by Russian, Ukrainian, and Western governments. But Umland, Shekhovtsov, and their ilk try to force scholars to propagate fake narratives that they propagate, such, as false flag Nord Stream bombing by Russia, genocide in Ukraine, Ukraine as democracy, and no/marginal neo-Nazis in Ukraine. And they falsely claim that the blocking of Istanbul peace deal by the West is Russian propaganda. Umland & Shekhovtsov resorted to such denunciation in retaliation of my references in my book to their partisan stance & their whitewashing of neo-Nazis in Ukraine.
The denunciation of me and my scholarly book by Umland, Shekhovtsov, and their ilk is not only an open attack on academic freedom but also an attempt to censor my book and subject me for my criminal prosecution or sanctions by the undemocratic Zelensky regime for my academic research. There were many such cases of political persecution in Ukraine.
Their Stalinist-era predecessors published in a Ukrainian newspaper a similar denunciation of Mykhailo Krawtchouk, my distant relative, whose mathematical books were translated and used by the American inventor of the electronic digital computer in inventing his computer to speed up solutions of mathematical equations by methods that he developed. He was arrested on false charges & perished in Stalin's GULAG. Now, their contemporary successors use this invention for similar denunciation of a Ukrainian and Canadian scholar.
"The Russia-Ukraine War and its Origins is not just another study of the conflict. It is a tour de force of advocacy—for truth—a feat of evidence gathering and probably the closest that anyone has come to disentangling the host of conflicting narratives that have so characterised this war."
@I_Katchanovski is to be praised for publishing it with open access, even if this reflects not just his determination to reach the widest audience, but the difficulty anyone who challenges a fixed consensus faces in getting heard.

I recommend everyone follow the Yemeni journalist, brother Hussein Al-Bukhaiti. He publishes in English and is one of the leading English-language journalists in Yemen, but his page is heavily restricted by Elon Musk.
More than 1,200 people have been killed in Iran since the campaign began, including civilians, according to monitoring groups. At least 12 people have been killed in Israel by retaliatory Iranian strikes.
The city of Tehran has been subjected to heavy aerial bombardment by US and Israeli forces, with the strikes targeting multiple government and public sites across the Iranian capital, according to RT’s Tehran bureau chief, Hami Hamedi.
Hamedi visited a police headquarters on a busy route running through the heart of the city that was bombed on Tuesday. The death toll from the attack remains unclear.
Footage from the scene shows the police station heavily damaged, with its upper floors caved in. Rescuers are still digging through the rubble at the site, with heavy machinery deployed to aid them.
“As you can see, there were residential buildings across from this police station, all of which have been damaged,” Hamedi says.
The attack inflicted heavy collateral damage, with multiple husks of civilian vehicles and motorcycles littering the surroundings of the police headquarters. Over a dozen passersby were killed in the attack when the police building was hit by multiple projectiles in a matter of seconds, eyewitnesses told Hamedi.
“I personally saw someone in front of the cafe who didn’t have a head,” a local business owner, whose cafe was severely damaged in the strikes, has said. “Between ten and fifteen pedestrians who were passing by apparently died,” he added.
NATO chief Mark Rutte chatting with former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt before leaving the Grand Hotel in Stockholm at the end of #Bilderberg 2025
If you need one video to understand NATO, that's the one.
Trump is speaking about annexing Canada and Greenland (both part of NATO) and NATO's Secretary General Mark Rutte not only sits there without any objection whatsoever, but goes out of his way to be obsequious with Trump, praising him endlessly and saying that he "needs the clip for his family" when Trump praises him back.
When Trump suggests NATO "might have to get involved" in the annexation of Greenland, the Secretary General—whose primary job is defending territorial integrity of member states—responds by trying to "leave that outside" the discussion because he doesn't "want to drag NATO in that." The very idea that NATO's chief would treat a member's territorial annexation as a topic to disregard when it's the U.S. doing it is all you need to know about the "alliance".
Right afterwards, Trump boasts that "we have a couple of bases on Greenland already and quite a few soldiers," before suggesting to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that "maybe you'll see more and more soldiers go there" in an obvious hint at seizing the territory by force. Which incidentally illustrates the absurdity of Trump's demand: with these bases, the U.S. already has the strategic foothold it claims to need in Greenland. And all the while, even as the threat of military annexation is voiced out loud, Rutte sits in silence.
Same thing for Canada: Trump says "we have to do this, I'm sorry", referring to annexing Canada and making it a state, calling Canada potentially "one of our greatest states" and noting how "incredible" the country would look visually as part of the U.S.. Meanwhile at no moment does Rutte make any attempt to defend Canada's sovereignty or explain how that violates just about every principle of NATO's treaty.
All in all, this exchange strips bare the reality of power within NATO: an alliance that's supposed to be about mutual defense but which in reality is a vehicle - or at the very least an enabler - for its most powerful member's imperial ambitions. It had been clear for a while when one studied NATO's behavior towards countries outside the alliance, but now even its members must face the uncomfortable truth that the very organization they joined for security could assist in their aggression.
