It's heartwarming to know there are people who appreciate me so much they'd do such a kind thing for me. I'm glad I have learned to be kinder to myself too!
In group therapy others can mean so much to you. Their advice, perspective, experiences and company helped me grow as a human being. It's great to find meaning in both caring and being cared about.
I didn't make this scarf, one of the wonderful people there made it for me 💖
It's a blend of my hobby of pin collecting (especially those from @Kurz_Gesagt ) and a new found interest in crafting things. A few months and a few new pins later I still smile seeing my finished result!
So back to that silly tree from before...
I eventually got the desire to make something on my own, inspired by one of the exercises I had done before. I made a pin board by painting my artistic rendition of space on a piece of cloth then attaching it to a board of cork!
At some point during therapy I kinda got a crush on someone else. I was furious with myself cause that was probably the worst timing ever to have a crush on anyone ever really.
Unfortunately I got caught up in it so much it was clearly stunting my progress...
To be able to tell, it's okay... We all have our odd days, let's not call ourselves awful horrible failures or anything. It can just be "damn, this could've gone better, I'll keep this in mind next time..."
Of course it's the balance in both, self reflection remains important!
Does anyone know macramé? Regardless, it's a very repetitive process that mildly starts getting annoying to the arm when you lift up the rope around the ring, making some sort of knot, seemingly never ending and not even looking like it goes forward. Yeah that was agonizing lol
Again it's the many hours of therapy combined that gave me more perspectives, more structure in my life, even though the simplest of tasks like eating healthy or going to sleep on time can still challenge me sometimes, BUT just as important is to be mild to yourself.
Look, I can't say I'm proud of it but this is the first thing I made when I was put in a room full of craft material and getting carte blanche. But all these tools can't help you if you don't believe you're even worth getting better. I'm proud of my process... and this dumb tree.
