Saw a few comments on how battery storage is a solution..

It is but current operational BESS is about 1 GWh. It means it can supply 1GW for an hour...or 250MW for 4 hrs.

You do the math now if we were to store 60GW everyday in peak hours and discharge in the evening over 4 hrs (240 GWh of BESS capacity needed)

A more recent CEA report dated March 2026 is projecting an addition of 80 GW / 321 GWh (by 2035-36) which means supplying 42GW into the grid for upto 5hrs.

Whether you use the earlier projections from the post below or this new projection, current BESS capacity is woefully inadequate...but growing.

Some dumb reports had down downgraded a leading capital goods co a few weeks back and fixated a price target significantly lower than market price.

Till its parent announced its order book and trajectory.

And yesterday the Ind listed co said order book is highest in many years.

Dumb qtr to qtr excel sheet analysis including by so called prominent research houses.

Stock had its best gains in a month in many years!
