Is Delhi's air unclean and unhealthy? Of course. Is anything being done about it? No. Why? Because it’s not an election issue. For the majority of Delhi’s population, pollution isn’t a concern. Free water, free electricity, free travel—now even free cash is on the cards. What else do they need? Kejriwal openly admitted that cleaning the Yamuna doesn’t fetch votes (though he promised to clean it, which he is doing since a decade). True. Cleaning the air won’t either. Selfish voters, hence indifferent administration—the beauty of democracy!

A part of Terminal 1 at Delhi Airport has collapsed, leading to fatality. The BJP narrative is mostly focused on the fact that this part was constructed during the UPA era and not under Modi.

Sure, this looks like an ugly defense, but what other options do they have? Congress, including Priyanka Gandhi, is running a narrative that this part was inaugurated by Modi 3 months back. If the BJP doesn't respond to this fake allegation, it reflects poorly on their claims of good infrastructure. If they do respond, it creates a perception that Modi's image is more important than people's lives.

Here comes the role of better communication (which they lack). Instead of activating multiple channels to run a narrative that this wasn't inaugurated by Modi, but UPA, why not simply tell the concerned ministry to do a press conference and say that whatever happened is unfortunate and unacceptable. We will fix the accountability. At the same time, requesting Congress not to do politics over it, especially with fake allegations. This part of the terminal was inaugurated in 2009 by UPA, not by us a month back. However, this doesn't absolve us from responsibility as we were supposed to maintain it. It happened under our watch and we'll make sure those responsible pay for it and such things don't happen again.

एयरपोर्ट टर्मिनल की छत गिर गई और सरकार के मंत्री यह बताने में जुटे हैं कि मोदी जी ने जिस बिल्डिंग का उद्घाटन किया था, वो दूसरी तरफ है।

आज भी, ‘मोदी की छवि’ सर्वोपरि है। 2008-09 में छत बनी, किसी प्राइवेट संस्था ने बनाई, उसका रखरखाव करने का दायित्व किसका था?

आपने कभी सुना है कि किसी भयावह दुर्घटना के बाद भाजपा ने किसी को निलम्बित किया हो? भाजपा, अपवादों को छोड़ कर, न ऐसा करती है, न अधिकारियों को कोई अंतर पड़ता है।

इसमें मोदी और भाजपा को दोष न होते हुए भी, सारा दोष उन्हीं पर जाएगा क्योंकि इनके बचाव की लाइन में ‘ये मोदी जी के समय में नहीं बनी’ सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात हो जाती है।

ऐसा नहीं है कि मोदी जी ने जो छू दिया, जिसका फीता काट दिया वो सड़क नहीं धँसेगी, वो वंदे भारत नहीं रुकेगी, उस रेलवे स्टेशन पर पानी नहीं जमेगा… सब अनंतकाल तक सोने की आभा लिए चमकते रहेंगे।

ढाँचे बनते हैं, समस्याएँ होती हैं। उसका समाधान करो, न कि ‘ये मोदी जी ने नहीं बनवाया था, ये मनमोहन के समय का है’ करते हुए मोदी जी की छवि गढ़ने में लगे रहो।

@BJP4India अपनी कम्यूनिकेशन योजना बदलिए, ‘मोदी-मोदी’ तक ठीक है, पर ‘मोदी-मोदी-केवल मोदी’ में फँसोगे तो समस्या हो जाएगी।
