Because they need more time.

But when people start paying for refusals, that's usually a sign of desperation.

My agent handled everything.

I’ve heard that sentence many times. In this case, it ended with a refusal and a misrepresentation finding.

A simple reminder: if an application is submitted in your name, you are responsible for it.

Marriage fraud can come back years later and cost everything.

A recent Federal Court case is a reminder.

The applicant:

Lived in Canada for years
Had Canadian born children
Applied on humanitarian & compassionate grounds
Fought the case all the way to Federal Court

It wasn't enough.

IRCC revoked her PR.
The Immigration Appeal Division agreed.
The Federal Court agreed.

Three decision makers.
Same outcome.

Many immigration mistakes can be fixed.

Marriage fraud is rarely one of them.

Canada says it wants to lead the AI revolution...

This is the same government that turned #ArriveCAN into a $90M scandal, #PrescribeIT into a $300M+ scandal, and somehow loses money running a postal service during the biggest e commerce boom in history.

Canada doesn't have an AI problem.

Canada has a "where did all the money go?" problem.

Before leading the future, maybe prove you can manage the basics:

Build software without a scandal.
Spend public money without an Auditor General report.
Run a Crown corporation without taxpayer bailouts.

The scary part isn't #AI.
It's politicians seeing AI and thinking:

"You know what this needs? More government."

Tim Hortons became the villain of a much bigger problem.

After COVID, almost every major food chain in Canada relied heavily on the #TFW program because businesses genuinely couldn’t find workers.

Now the economy has changed.
Jobs are harder to find.
Youth unemployment is rising.

Tim Hortons publicly saying the TFW program is “no longer necessary” changed the public mood fast.

This was never just about coffee.
It’s about immigration, jobs, and a country struggling to adjust to a new economy.

New Indian immigrants often don’t have real professional training to handle the roles they get in Canada.

ChatGPT is quietly costing people their immigration cases.

A Federal Court judge recently threw out a self represented applicant’s reply because it appeared AI generated and even cited cases that didn’t exist.

The Court made it clear:
Using AI does not remove your responsibility to understand what you are filing.

As an immigration consultant, I now see this happening very often.

The danger is not AI itself.
The danger is people trusting it blindly.

AI can:

• cite fake case law
• quote the wrong legal provisions
• apply the wrong legal test
• create confident sounding arguments that are completely wrong

And most people cannot tell the difference.

Immigration law is not just “filling forms.”
One wrong argument, one wrong citation, or one misunderstanding of the law can cost someone their status, PR, or future in Canada.

ChatGPT will not make someone a lawyer or consultant overnight.

Do not rely on it as your legal representative.

Canada needs to make the following changes to immigration to cut 90% of the headaches;

> Temporary Foreign Workers should be banned from qualifying for permanent residency and asylum claims. We don't need to fill up our country with low skilled labour to subsidize businesses.

> Automatically deny asylum claims for these who came here under Student Visas.

> Stop issuing Visas (besides specific high skilled STEM) to 'low trust' immigration countries; countries whose immigrants continue to try to game and scam the system, and live off it. Canada needs to stop being treated like a dumping ground and a charity for others

A lot of people entered this industry without real skills or understanding.

For many, it’s just about selling job offers; LMIA, PNP, anything that closes.

I’m an RCIC, and I see the result every day.
Clients come to me after their cases are already messed up by other consultants.

I’m in two RCIC WhatsApp groups with 800-900 members each. Honestly, what I see there is concerning.

Basic questions.
Things clearly available on the IRCC website.
No effort to research, just asking for quick answers.

They openly share refusals and ask how to fix cases after they’ve already been mishandled.

The bigger issue is the regulator - College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants.
It’s too easy to get licensed.

But a license doesn’t mean competence. Not in a field that changes this fast.

That’s the reality.
There are some very good professionals.

But many are still learning on real client files.

From IRCC to CBSA, we’re told the system is fair, structured, and honest.

Then something like this comes out… and it hits different.

A CBSA officer spent 13 years accessing confidential immigration data for personal benefit; checking files, guiding applicants, using his official title, and even turning some into real estate clients.

That’s not a small slip.
That’s a long pattern.

And if something like this can go on for that long, you naturally start wondering… how did no one catch it earlier?

Because once it comes out, what happens next is pretty predictable.
