“I keep saying people need to attend football academy classes properly because if you watch that goal very carefully, it is never an assist.

The ball hits the bar, it is already coming out, then it hits the goalkeeper and goes in. For me, that is an own goal. I don’t understand how that gets awarded as an assist for Bruno.

Maybe the Premier League just wants everything to happen so he can break my record, because if you really understand football, that is never an assist.

And now people are celebrating it like Manchester United won a trophy. During my time, I had 20 assists and won trophies, now someone has ‘21 assists’ with no trophy and everybody is acting like history was made. It is a shame, an absolute disgrace.”
