Just finished reading the 7 Powers by Hamilton Helmer and I thought this book needs a different lens to review it. So here -

P.S Thanks @lennysan for bringing gurus like him to your podcast. π
And thanks to Jake & John (of Make Time) who on @lennyspodcast remind us that news is a part of "busy-bandwagon/ Infinity pools".. Most news is just entertainment since we are not responsible for the happenings in the world. https://t.co/eAChB2bmpN

Remember, sometimes slowing down is the fastest path to success.
Let me know in the comments - what are your favourite ways to intentionally slow down and boost your productivity? #productivity#productmanagement#fitness
β Fewer Tasks, One Highlight - Finally, as I had suggested in one of my previous posts - set aside focus time on one highlight for the day that will give you maximum satisfaction. Never let anything get in the way of that "one".
π ββοΈ The Power of "No" - Product managers, this one's for you! Don't be afraid to say "let me get back to you" on feature requests. Prioritize ruthlessly (think -RICE, Kano..). Resist the urge to answer every ping β buy some time!
π Intentionally Doing Nothing - Got this from the book "Zen in the Martial Arts"? Set aside some distraction-free time (no phones, notebooks!), even if it's just an hour. Recharge and come back feeling like you can conquer any product backlog.
As I train for my fastest 10K, aiming to shave off those precious minutes, I've stumbled upon a paradoxical truth: intentional slowdowns can lead to accelerated growth. π

πͺ Physical & Mental Fitness - No need to go full gym rat. Find what works for YOU, even if it's just 15 minutes a day. Consistency beats intensity every time! Even between your sets, take longer breaks. Literally, build the muscle memory.
βοΈ Morning Rituals - Jeff Bezos has a morning routing where he is literally "puttering around". Find what fuels you β a planned day, brewing that perfect cup of coffee. For me, it's spiritual reading; it keeps me laser-focused on my goals.
This got me thinking, maybe slowing down applies to more than just sports. For all my fellow hustlers (especially us Indians who are notorious for always being in a hurry and yet arriving late) β
Here's the thing: both your heart and brain need to be trained for distance and pace. π« Think of it like that epic Kohli chase where he paced himself first and went for the big shots towards the end.
Here's a glimpse into my strategy:
π 2 slow jogs a week, allowing my body and mind to acclimate.
π Balancing intermittent and fast runs, fostering adaptability and endurance.
Result? Slashing my personal best by 7 minutes in just 2 weeks. π―
