Why do we blame the TTC when Line 5 stalls? Riders are falling into a massive PR trap. City Hall paid $0 for construction and doesnβt own the tracks, Metrolinx does. Yet the TTC takes 100% of the public backlash on the street. Here is my full breakdown https://t.co/i0vWyWXUAS
@TTChelp Defective accessibility asset on Line 2 EB. T1 Car 5304 has completely inoperable Visual Door Closing Indicators. The amber warning lights above the doorways fail to flash during a door cycle across all 4 doorways.
@TTChelps Platform Alignment Violation 504 King Eastbound Car 4408 at King & Dufferin. Operator stopped at stop bar then pulled forward few meters and opened doors. Master Operational Guide CH 4 SEC 12 "Operators must align front bumper with transit stop pole to cycle doors" #ttc
@genuinelyjolley@Metrolinx Your Ontario Line construction is slowing down Line 1. We already endured years of delays between Lawrence and Davisville for Line 5. Hope you guys line up the tracks properly this time, unlike Eglinton where you overshot and made TTC extend their platforms.
Hey @TTChelps, car 5052 on Line 2 BD East has a defective exterior door indicator light. The red bulb is completely dead during a door cycle, creating a blind spot for the guard's platform observation #TTC
@TTCHelp Urgent Priority 3 clean up needed at Union Station. Biohazard/feces right on the floor at the 200 Bay St / Royal Bank Plaza underground entrance.
@TTChelps Transit Control Centre please radio all Eastbound Line 2 crews to enforce strict compliance with Maintenance of Way RSZ limits from Bay to Yonge and Castle Frank to Broadview. Trains are operating at 30 kmh, Max speed is a safety mandate not a suggestion
@john_ditomasso@TTChelps I did a field audit. Caught a crew hitting 30, went back to St George & monitored other EB runs. Standing at the railfan window, the cab speedometer is fully visible. Combined with the accelerated track joint cadence, most push the limit during rush hour.
@john_ditomasso@TTChelps When deadheading or tracking lines, the right of way features physical yellow RSZ wayside markers affixed to the trackbed. Those placards explicitly state the mandatory maximum speed for the slow order block in bold text.
@fourinafiji@TTChelps@Safety_Canada When you look out the window, you're supposed to stick your head out and look straight down the platform, like what this guard does.
Continuous breach of Station Departure Protocols on Line 2 today. The guard in trailing cab T1 car 5078 is systematically neglecting Platform Safety Monitoring. Once doors lock, she fails to maintain trackside observation past the orange markers at multiple stops. @TTChelps
@john_ditomasso@TTChelps@Safety_Canada This is her point of view, staring inside the cabin, not physically leaning out the window. Look at the TTC subway operations handbook yourself!
@john_ditomasso@TTChelps@Safety_Canada Here is an example Guards are expected to visually inspect the platform by leaning their heads out of the window.
@TTChelps@Safety_Canada@TTChelps Thanks ^TR. Platform safety is critical. If a Guard isn't following basic Point & Acknowledge protocols, it makes you question overall compliance when they switch over to the Operator role to take the train westbound.
@TTChelps@TTCnotices In 20 years on the 45 Kipling corridor I have never seen such extreme over crowding. Not blaming anyone I understand Jane and Dufferin exhaust Mount Dennis divisional resources so you are short turning vehicles here to protect headways up north But compromising Kiplings service delivery leaves us completely stranded heading south.
This resource neglect is exactly why transferring operations from Queensway to Mount Dennis was a terrible move for Etobicoke commuters and honestly while it was at Queensway we never saw this happen at all
@TTChelps Thanks, ^SR. I appreciate you escalating this to Transit Control. Hopefully, they can coordinate the vehicle change-off smoothly during the terminal layover.
@TTChelps TTC New Flyer bus #7303 from Mount Dennis Division is active in revenue service on Route 45 Kipling S/B to Kipling Station. The front PRESTO machine is entirely out of service and covered with yellow paper.
The transfer dispenser is already loaded with evening transfers with the NIGHT strip intact, meaning this bus is prepared to remain in service through the 6:00 PM evening transition. Leaving a defective unit out for a lengthy evening run hurts front door boarding flow and revenue collection. The best course of action is to arrange a vehicle change-off during its layover at Kipling Station.
