What this boils down to is a matter of consent. Even if a streamer originally allowed “funny bullying” of themself, that doesn’t mean they can’t withdraw consent and change their mind at any time. It can be hard to change a community culture but it’s important to be comfortable!

I feel so bad for this streamer omg. Reading this makes me feel better about my enforcement of a “bully the streamer-free” community. I’ve gotten a lot of flak for not tolerating people being rude to me in a “joking” manner but people can’t seem to comprehend that a community is led by mob mentality, and if people see one guy doing it they’re likely to do it too. One guy being playfully rude becomes a lot different when it’s being done by 50+ people and it becomes the culture of your community. I would rather die than have a community full of people who don’t respect me enough to acknowledge I have feelings and I don’t regret banning chatters for it in the slightest.

Chatters can be replaced. Don’t let anyone make it so you don’t enjoy being a part of your own community.
